  1. Re: King Kong Trailer Online

I remember saying to my wife the day I read they had signed Jackson. "They have to do this as a period film, which could be really amazing". My wife said "I have never seen King Kong" and I tripped and fell down the stairs.

I should be out of the body cast just in time for the opening.*

*I am not really in a body cast, but I thought that the fact that she had never even seen King Kong was pretty fscking shocking for a girl who calls herself a geek.

This one of those weird Nexus threads' date=' so if such things bother you stop reading now. I was wondering though, for those of you that do touch on issues of romantic relationships and sexuality in your supers games, do the power and related special effects ever become an issue; for example, the possible dangers of someone with superhuman strength injuring their partner during a moment of passion? Or do you just assume such things have been dealt with?[/quote']

  3. Re: Character Design Theory

So what is your design theory?

I could go into a missive about why a design theory, as you describe it, is wrong. However that would be rude.

You can min/max her to death, and it happens all the time. However what fun is that? I approach it from a more narrative angle.

Build the person, then add the powers. If you are building some types of heroes this may not work, but the point is the same.

I could build my hero dozens of ways, but I use the format I think best fits the style and effects of the powers. Sometimes you should use a multi-power rather than an elemental control; just because it models the power better, and not because of a points advantage.

    My cents,

OMAC means One Man Army Corps. OMAC was a super soldier who worled with the UN after WWIII to help keep the peace. He may or may not have been either the son or father of Kamandi, the last boy on Earth. He may or may not have had an alter ego of a young boy, similar to that of Captain Marvel. I no longer remember what I remember or what I dreamed when I filled in the blanks.

  5. Re: Hero System women are all insanely attractive

So' date=' I guess in the Champions Universe ALL the women are hot. Even the "normal" ones.[/quote']

Well of course they are, they are playing the best supers game available today! As a matter of fact they are also startlingly brilliant. I know my wife is an incredibly hot Polar Bear in our Champions game...

  6. Re: PULP HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See?

I would like to see something to do with cults. A small section on creating them or tailoring them for the campaign. I am glad to see a description of Pulp as I have a hard time trying to explain it to my players. Lots of maps would be great as well as an adventure or two to get people going with the right feel.

    ooohhh, good call...

  7. Re: PULP HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See?

I do agree that highlighting the differences between supers and pulps is a good idea. A masked vigilante isn't a superhero, and vice versa. A discussion of pulp subgenre; espescially noir, lost worlds, jungle stories, the weird orient, and the like.
