  1. Re: Still looking for original character sheets

Thanks, but those aren't the ones I'm looking for, the ones you gave me came in the boxed set that came out later.

The ones I'm looking for have the character figure on the bottom right and they take up much more room on the character sheet. There were eight of them I believe, four male, four female.

It seems like these things are rarer than hen's teeth these days.

    But thanks anyway,

  2. A few months ago I put up a thread looking for copies of the original character sheets published in the light blue champions book of 1982 or 83, the one with Gargoyle on the cover.

These had the blank character templates drawn by Mark Williams, RIP.

I've searched eBay for these books, found a couple, but without the sheets.

If anyone has copies of these they can scan and post or just email to me I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,

  3. Re: Who are your favourite Superhero Artists?

    1. George Perez

    2. Jim Starlin

    3. Michael Golden

    4. Alan Davis

    5. John Byrne

    6. Phil Jimenez

    7. Mike Grell

    8. Carlos Pachaco

    9. Art Adams

    10. Pat Broderick

I don't consider Alex Ross a comic artist, he's a painter and his stuff is more fine art than comic art, so though he's not my favorite he's a step above most.

  4. Re: Looking for Classic Champions character templates

MisterBaldy was kind enough to email me what I asked for, Thanks. That link that the QuestionMan added is also great.

Now I am looking for the the character outlines that came with the original characters in the first champions book. They were done by the great Mark Williams as I remember, I always loved his work and heard he died a few years ago, may he rest in peace.

If anyone has them let me know,

    Thanks again.

  5. I had a Spider-Man rip-off that had a thing for super-villainesses. He fell for and had affairs with both Bluejay and Scorpia in his first incarnation. In a later incarnation he helped reform a villainess named Saving Grace, fell in love and eventually married her, he later learned she was already married (she didn't know it at the time she had amnesia). That storyline was never finished and was left hanging.

I had another character who was a combination of a agent of order and green lantern, whose lover turned out to be an agent of chaos. They both worked as a balance against the other and couldn't interfere with each others work.

And they lived happily ever after...

  6. In the 20 or so years I've played with my group we've fought Eurostar about 10 different times and won 7 of them.

The early version was above average power, the 4th edition version were really powerful compared to base characters so a starting group really had no chance of beating them. The 5th edition version went back to above average and can be beaten with team work and a little luck by a group of base 350 characters.

  7. I love when we get into these kind of discussions.

They didn't have to put a full page for each villain in the book, maybe a group pick of the villains and each one in a small block stat. That way it would take maybe a page and a half to display a half page pick of the baddies and the stats for up to four or five on the other page.

If the GM wants to know more about the villains background, motivation, et al, he/she can go to the book of origin to get more info.

  8. I'm disappointed with this book. They expect that you have access to Champions, Champions Universe and CKC. You can't just pick up the book and run it.

80% of the villains listed in the adventures aren't in the book, but are in the other three.

If you already have Champions, Champions Universe and CKC I would recommend the book. The first adventure is very smartly written and spaced out (only one I've read so far). If the others are half as smart as the first it is well worth it. I love modules that give you play by play instead of just a loose outline.

    Just ticks me off,

  9. I'd go with it as part of the special effect with it doing probably a third of the Telepathy damage classes in Ego Attack that Does BODY. Since this also seems to cause pain to even the more powerful psi's I'd not have Mental Defense be effective against it.

    Bester is so coool.
