Well, angle of entry factors aside, the Mythbusters fired several guns at an angle into a pool and found that you're safe at around 3 to 5 feet from even a .50 cal rifle. So, offhand, I'd say somewhere from (Edit) 4-6. Edit: Assuming, though, that you are not in the inch, but under it.
  2. I've been thinking about this for a little while. The show is pretty brutal to Mobile Suits. Typically, a single beam rifle shot will kill a suit, making for some rather abrupt careers. The pilots who live have P.S. Armor and 8 point CSLs to burn. Your thoughts?

  5. I was flipping through The Ultimate Vehicle a few days ago, and glanced at the write-up for a standard mecha beam saber. It was an HKA, with standard ads and disads. Thinking about it later, it suddenly hit me that it was a Hand Killing Attack, which would give it a range of one inch or two meters. Is there something I missed? Edit: I scroll down the page and see mecha guidlines including hex-size suggestions. That was a quick answer.
