  1. Re: Learning from the mistakes of others I will leave the D&D for second, let me address the first point. While I am not the rules guru for Champions, I do like the system, and I think it works relatively well. I would be opposed to to seeing a major change in the rules, and I don't think I am alone, if nothing else the failure of the Fuzion system clearly illustrates that. Tweak it, file off the sharp pointy bits, give us more source material, all good things. Doing a D&D 4E thing, not so good. On that note, D&D 4E is not old time D&D. It is an attempt to merge the systems of the D&D MMO and paper games to make it possible for people to crossover between the markets seemlessly, and to make it feasible for a pen and paper game to be played in a virtual enviroment with support. These are interesting ideas. They are ideas geared towards pleasing the people who are going to be playing and putting down their money, thus allowing D&D to continue to exist. I have played 4E, I know a GM who is a 4E fanatic and while I am not the convert that he is, I can appriciate the changes and user friendly aspects of it. I still know that it is not D&D. A final point. Champions and HERO don't have to be D&D, and don't have to do the things that D&D does. Champions and Hero don't represent the hobby of RPGs to the world at large, like it or not, D&D has to. The 'modernization' of D&D get bodies in the door.   2. Re: How should I do this power? Two issues Naked Advantage Construct? Where is that? I am REALLY new to futzing with this program. I figured that the power would only share 30 points TOTAL, but spread over the group, like 10 STR 1 SPD amd 5 PD/ED. He only transfers 3 and a half dice (21 points total). Would it really work your way you think? Because then I would only have to buy 21 pts worth of the advantage. Crossbow
  3. Re: How should I do this power? I am liking this option. 30 points of characteristics, Usable by others, at range, from the selected group, all at the same time. It works out to an 82 advantage exactly. I guess I have to put it into HD as a custom power, but at least the math and the logic hold up. Crossbow

  7. Got a character that does transfers (STR, DEX, CON, SPD, and PD/ED), so his stats change. I want the character to be able to give his raised characteristics, and only the raised ones, to others. Preferable at range, but that doesn't have to be the case. I guess I could do it with Aid. That way I could tie the transfer rates together for a small or non-existant limitation, but I feel like I am missing a trick with some kind of Characteristic usable by others-type thing. I also want it to fit as a slot or multiple slots in an 82 point multipower Any Ideas? Crossbow
  8. Okay so I am running a Champions campaign in 4th edition. I have a new character (electrical elemental type) that want to be able to control machines and computers electrically. I figure the AI and computer stuff is easy, mind control usable on machines, only on machines. Now I need to figure controlling non-intelligent machines, I am thinking TK usable only to make them do what they could normally do, usable only on electrically powered devices. Would a 1.5 limitation be about right for that your think? The other piece to this is figuring what kind of defense certain things like an armor-jock's battlesuit might have to resist that kind of effect, any ideas out there? Finally, I was wondering if there was ever anything fleshed out anywhere on the CyberKnights of Atlanta mentioned several times in the High Tech Enemies book. My team is based in Savannah so I think the group has a good chance of a run in with the old members. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.
  9. I am going nuts with these guys and I need to get them straight. But unfortunatley the only one I can find hard data on is Primus (ORG Book 2 and Classic Org, which is basically the smae thing.   13. As promised I am posting the (mostly) finished character sheets for review/comment. Thanks for all the help with this, we finally had our first session last night and we are off to a rousing start. Still have an issue with The Barrister (Transfer guy from the original thread). I purchased his transfer ranged and usable by others, but I am not sure it works how he wants it to work yet. Does the range advantage bought on the power also cover the other advantage? IOW can he project his transferred points to an ally when projects the power at his victim yet? Or does he have to pay additional for that, in your opinion. I could go either way with it. The others are okay, though after last night I am expecting Reptilian would prefer being a Brick than a Blade so that may change. There is also another player starting next week.
  14. Re: Fourth Edition Champions The character's SFX is that he is all about balances, taking from one to give to another. I think at this point for my own sanity and the player's physical safety, the PLAYER'S not the character's, I am making him a transfer Multipower, and just buying slots for the individual pieces. 3d6 usable by others and ranged should just about do it. now the only thing is fitting in the inanimate RKA/aid piece and the vampiric healing. Good news is the force wall guy is done now. Just need the player to spend 46 points on personal touches. Then I get to figure out the lizard chick. Crossbow :) :ugly: :p
