    Background:

An russian orphan at an early age, he was discovered by Psycor (corporation that specializes in metahuman activities, specifically psychic powers). He was brought in to one of their Asian facilities, where he befriended other children. His captors didn't realize his potential, and left him to work on his physical talents.

When the time was right, he escaped with his friends, and together they lived on the streets in India (lead by Alex). While they lived in poverty, they were happy. When Psycor found them, Alex left himself to be captured so save the rest. Adrian, one of the members of the group, nearly idolized his leader, and set himself to guide the group afterwards. Unfortunately, he was far too self-centered to fare well as a leader.

After being brainwashed, Alex again managed to flee the facility (or so he thought). This time he spent time training in various martial arts centers in India, but never staying long. This was due to the brainwashing, which forged him to become their loyal assassin and troubleshooter. He eventually traveled the world, working as an assassin. He even commissioned his katar gauntlet energy blades to be made from Deadalus. He ruthlessly executed his missions, though a good potion of his assignments were from Psycor and he never though to make sure he got his payment from them.

Eventually, he came across Adrian again, now a leader of Cypher, an underground group of assassins and mercenaries. Bloodbath did not recognize Adrian, and Adrian's worship became rivialry, and then utter hatred for being ignored. After a lengthy time with Adrian, Adrian finally backstabbed Bloodbath by detonating a bomb in the same building Bloodbath was in. Miraciously, he survived and was found by Mentalla (who has known about the group and Bloodbath for some time, and is actually a superhero). She took the opporunity to heal him and alter his thinking, (his mental defenses are so tough, that she could only do so when he was out cold) so that he had to obey her every command, and that he would work towards rebuilding his conscience. This pisses him off to no end.

He was left in Phidippus's care, who is similar to spider-man. He is usually a wise-cracker, but with Ashley (a named chosen by Mentalla to feminize Alex), Phid has had nothing but trouble. Although Ashley is used to ending problems indefinately, Phid has guided him to control himself, and to start developing respect for others and their emotions.

Ashley and Phidippus have been together for about a month now, and Ashley's facial scars have healed themselves after near-death experience with the supervillain named Interface. Ashley spends most of his time patroling the streets for punks, and to provide food for the local homeless population (after they helped him find a VIPER base where some heroes were held captive). He helped save the Champions, yet his attitude and behavior ensures he isn't welcome around them. Personally, he loves harassing Nighthawk, who up to this point was considered antisocial until Ashley showed up. :eg:

    Questions? Comments? Accusations?

  2. Re: Extra Arms for Blocking

yea, I really like the duplication version. But what would the Same Body (-1/2) penalty entail? Would the duplicate use the main character's end, and share the same stun/body? Seems like a low limitation for such a penalty (unless you don't spend the duplicate's points on end and stun)

  3. Re: I need to brainstorm some anachronistic items

In my game, the players are doing the Sliders/eXiles jumping between parallel universes type thing. One of their recurring antagonists is a collector (well, his agents). His shtick is that he is collecting rare items from parallel time lines.

I thought I'd see what other ideas we here in HEROdom can think of. I look forward to any replies and appreciate your thoughts.

I would suggest some items that could spook the characters. I suggest items diriectly associated with them, from other dimensions. For example, a power-armored character's suit (with modifications and holes?); a character's signature weapon (with a small change to signify it really isn't their own weapon). I would use items that would haunt/intimidate/violate :ugly: the characters.

  4. Re: WWYCD: Alternate Identities

I've have considered this lately. Ashley had died once, and left his villainous past behind. And considering INTERPOL is still after him, faking his heroic death would finally get them off his back. To be certain, he would leave his energy katars and clothing behind.

A new image for him would be a blindfolded martial artist (using his telekinetic and telepathic abilities to 'see') who would use a more traditional weapon, like a bow staff and rely on more stun attacks than killing attacks. He would also wear a white costume like a monk.

Note: I also expect Ashley to create an actual public id that would ironically live somewhere close to nighthawk's secret id (Ashley drives him absolutely bonkers ALL the time), and be a civil and polite neighbour. The inside jokes would be AWESOME. And the look on Nighthawk's face once he realized who he's been borrowing sugar from for the past 2 weeks... and the mind games.... oh the mind games....

  5. Re: WWYCD: Chibi Champions

Of course, the Champions would probably be gunning for you anyway... I think Chibi Nighthawk would have already committed seppuku out of shame, though.

you know, chibi means no one could kill Ashley. He could get lippier and give Nighthawk a seizure, tell Mentala what he thinks of her 'rules', and generally run amok the city streets in his boxers. It's a pitty that evil characters usually come with 10 levels of unlock in chibi settings =/

  6. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game

no one is on Justice? awwww I even have some higher leveled character that could help out =/

    Justice:

    Alagara lvl 43 Def emp/elec

    Vezro lvl 17-18 Mastermind Robo/FF

    Protector

    Aspley lvl 24 Stalker Claws/SR

NOTE: is there a Champions group set yet? The one i belong to on justice is not active but is made mostly of champions players (we even converted the characters to our actual games)

  7. Re: Your Character's Room at the Base

anyone else find it hilarious that someone named Hermit created this thread?

Ashley is mostly a loner type of person, staying at Phidippus's hidden sewer base. Due to the amount of injuries he takes on every game, he essentially sleeps in the sun-tanning healing station, then watches TV on the couch when he isn't patrolling. He's basically a mooch.

  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

    Slow day on Patrol

Ashley: "So I only send one person to the hospital?"

GM: "Yes, but the kitten is out of the tree"

Player 1: "Should I unravel their plan?"

Player 2: "Not yet, I want to see the gun fight."

"If we get killed on this trip I'm never letting you live it down."

"Are you proficient with kobold?" "No." "You should be."

"I'm gonna need more dice" "I'm gonna need more warforged"

Event, the density based hero had a busy 38 hours. Captured by a supervillain and forced to survive a deathtrap, saved a lot of people from a VIPER-trapped burning building, and cleared a VIPER base located in the desert (all without sleep), Event barely makes it to his university class in his public id.

Professor: "Aren't you suppose to be on vacation?"

And Event was on vacation XD. He completely forgot and went to class anyways.

  9. Garra from Naruto is a very unique character. When born, he had a demon trapped in his body (a sand demon) who protects Garra without Garra needing to expend effort for his common defenses. As a result, he always carries a large amount of sand on his back in the form of a Gord. Also, he never sleeps or else the demon inside him takes control.

    Garra has the following abilities:

    • A protective barrier of sand that has a will of its own to protect Garra above all costs. the best way around this is to go so fast that the sand can't react in time
    • A layer of hardened sand on his body as armor. This armor takes the blows but cracks easily. Garra needs to spend energy to fix his damaged armor
    • Sand based ninjutsus, like teleportation with Sand, can hide under sand easily, a remote eye made of sand, sand shurikens, and can use his defensive sand (armor and the barrier) to form a deadly sand spear
    • He can use surrounding sand (or his protecive sand) to ensnare someone and crush them to death
    • Later, he can even summon a tsunami of sand, or a ultimate defense sand doll thingy that is nearly unbreakable as a shield

my question is, how would you do this in a champions game? One idea is to use the sand as a follower, but I am curious what your take on it is.

  10. Re: Philosophical question

Personally (time travel paradoxes aside), I feel that killing the baby Hitler would be wrong since he has yet to do anything wrong. What I would do in that situation is create or train an organization/group of people to prepare for what is to come. They would have years of preparation, and when Hitler first issued those orders for mass executions and invasions, my team would be ready to pull the plug.

That seems like the only moral thing to do. You are assured he is what he is, and you spare the life of an innocent child.

  11. Re: WWYCD: We hope you're feeling better now

Ashley ( a TK martial artist with Regeneration w/ ressurection) would most likely kill himself trying to see if he really didn't have his powers, since his reg only works to bring him from the brink of death. Otherwise, he'd think it was some kind of mental brainwashing (yet again) and train himself to the human limit to find who did it and make them regret it.
