Re: "Neat" Pictures
Yeah, that's an enormous number of people.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
That is pretty cool' date=' and cheaper than tile, i'll wager.[/quote']Assuming my quickly-googled numbers are correct, the surface area of a penny = 283 sq mm and one square foot = 92,903 sq mm. That means if you somehow ignored the space wasted between the coins, a one foot-square tile would be $3.28 in pennies. In reality it'd be even fewer pennies, of course. Add in the cost of adhesive and a substrate. If you do the work yourself, it could be competitive with nicer tiles.

My eyes, they burn!

Unless Old Man was known to be precognitive' date=' in which case it would be really creepy.[/quote']Precognitive? I just hope he doesn't have a visceral hatred of me!

Re: Creepy Pics.
I think he was asking what thread is so weird you don't go there anymore.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
According to my Arkansawyer cousins' date=' it's "all y'all's"; or is that just a regionalism?[/quote']I come from many generations of Arkansans. I'm not aware of variations, except maybe way down toward *shudder* Louisiana.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
Y'all is plural. "All y'all" means you're talking about the entire group in question, not some generic group. "Y'all need to clear out of here" means I want people to leave. "All y'all need to clear out of here" means I want every last person to leave.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
It's a gerund.Making that mistake is not uncommon.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
I thought that was just present tense...I was telling someone that just yesterday.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
I'm not sure if this should have gone in the creepy thread instead' date=' but I think it is neat. I wonder if they make a full suit like this. Could be a great Halloween costume.http://www.blackmilkclothing.com/products/muscles-leggings[/quote']Heidi Klum did it for Halloween last year. And yes, it was sweet.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
Maybe because the clones aged twice as fast as a normal human...That means the girl in the picture is like ten years old. Man, I feel all perverted now.

Re: Creepy Pics.
Can you spell those steps out? Because I'm not getting it.What starting point - "Let's take a picture of you and the baby" or "Let's take a picture of this pink rifle" or "Let's take a picture of the new bathtub" or whatever - would lead to that photo without genuine weirdness in between? Even something like "Let's take a picture of what we spent our prize money on" says strange and sad things about the people. Of course it might just be "Let's take a weird picture" which starts out weird and eliminates the need for intervening steps.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
Stormtroopers are clones, right? Which means Palpatine wised up after he gained power.

Re: Creepy Pics.
Had to decide whether to post this in Gun Girls or here.At first I wondered why it belonged in this thread. Then I pondered the mental steps leading up to the photograph, and I get it.

Re: Destroy Your Geek Cred!!
"Bonding with Dad when I was a kid" is not an insignificant factor in the popuarity of sports.
Disliking sports hardly damages one's geek cred, of course.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
Man, Tolkein had a lot of time on his hands.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
perhaps a bit risque, but I thought it was neatHeh, reminds me of a friend in college.

Re: Destroy Your Geek Cred!!
and the last tiny bit of cred is destroyed.....Mission accomplishedHeh, touche.
Someone who is bored of the X-Files is tired of life. And I can do something about that - Death TribbleIt's not irrelevant that by all rights, the show should be one of my favorites. It's the execution that leaves me flat. (Rather the polar opposite of Mad Men, the execution of which is some of the best I've ever seen, but the subject matter of which could not be less interesting to me.)
(I'm not a big TV watcher though, so if a show doesn't hook me early in my viewing (wherever in the run that may be) I don't bother with it anymore. If a show does hook me, I'll generally stick with it to the bitter, bitter end.)

Aww, I thought "Christopher Lee was a horrible Dracula" was fresh and original.

Re: Destroy Your Geek Cred!!
I can't remember the last time I read a new fantasy or SF novel.
I read the first Amber book and thought it was drek, so I didn't read any further.
I read the first Elric book and thought it started brilliantly and turned into utter drek by the end. Didn't read any more.
Didn't make it through the first Harry Potter book. Trite writing, even for the target age. (Dig the movies, though.)
Didn't make it through the first Thomas Covenant book. Terrific writing, loved the main character, the generic fantasy world bored me to tears.
Didn't make it through the first Song of Fire and Ice book. Twice. Terrific writing, loved the characters, woefully underdeveloped storylines. (Loved the TV show though.)
Can't stand metal music of any stripe.
Can't stand musical stage shows, particularly the music.
Terrible at video games. Rarely play them.
Enjoyed The Dark Knight but couldn't care less about the next one.
Bored to tears by zombies, vampires and werewolves.
Bored by most comic books. Bored by most anime.
Bored by The X-Files. Never watched any Stargate show. Watched and enjoyed the first two seasons of nBSG, but apparently didn't care enough to continue.
Thought Buffy was awful, even though I reviewed the whole series episode by episode on another board, and even pretended to like it. You couldn't make me watch Angel with a Clockwork Orange setup.
I'm addicted to this forum but never read the actual Hero web site. Apparently they're shutting down or something? Is the forum going away?
