It looks like Foxbat clipped the street light pole, but kept on going...only to crash into the traffic light pole on the other side.  The front doors of  the SUV are open, but there's no sign of him.

Ghost Cat responds, "Understood.  We're a block behind you.  According to the satellite map app, there is a street light pole on Fifth near the corner, a traffic light pole at the corner, and a fire hydrant on Bellefield near the corner."

Ghost Cat adds in, "Fifth Avenue has a bend in it between Dithridge Street and Bellefield Avenue.  If Foxbat misses the turn, he could hit a utility pole of some kind or a fire hydrant." 

"Spirit Cat here.  Lieutenant McDonald just pulled up in her police car.  I'll be joining her and Ghost Cat."  She pauses, then adds, "The only vehicles at the synagogue are the custodian's SUV and a clergyman's sedan."

One says, "A vehicle, either a minivan or an SUV left the Allderdice parking lot in a hurry and didn't turn on its lights until it came to the corner."

"It looked dark under the street light," the other says.  "It was heading north on Fifth, toward Craig Street."

The only vehicle that stands out is a Ford Explorer wrapped with advertising for Merry Maids parked by the rectory.  The other cars parked with it have visor cards reading either "CLERGY" or "STAFF".  Lady Heart has seen two ladies in Merry Maids uniforms tending the church.

At that moment, an unmarked police car, with its red and blue lights flashing, pulls onto the lot.  Moments later, Samantha climbs out.

"Okay," Spirit Cat says.  She heads toward the synagogue.

Spirit Cat, now in costume, joins Lady Heart.  "I drew a blank at the church," she says.  "Could Foxbat have used a normal vehicle?"

It hasn't been, and the street-level door can't be opened from the outside.

"I don't blame you," Becca says.  "I didn't see anything.  But then, most of the windows in this wing face away from the high school.  The cantor and his daughter might've, that's their Camry Hybrid parked by my SUV, but I doubt it.  From what I understand, positioning a Torah scroll in the exactly the right place takes a lot of concentration."

She spots Becca, straightening up a classroom.  A caddy of cleaning products is within easy reach.

"I haven't," Cantor Silver says. 

"I haven't either," Deborah adds.  "Becca might've.  She's in the educational wing, getting things ready for tomorrow's religious school classes."

The lights are lower on the social hall side than on the educational wing side. 

Inside the sanctuary, the holy ark is open, revealing the Torah scrolls and Harry P. Silver, the cantor or chazzan, and his daughter, Deborah, are at a lectern, winding a Torah scroll and stopping every so often to check where they are. 

Cornerstone is on a walkway leading to the sidewalk.  Facing the street, Fifth Avenue is on his left and the auditorium parking lot is on his right.  Ghost Cat, still in street clothes, is making the turn onto the street he's on.  Spirit Cat, also in street clothes, is crossing the street, toward Holy Spirit Church, which is across Devonshire Street from the Tree of Life Congregation.

S/he goes closer to inspect the SUV. S/he is looking for anything odd around the SUV, like old Mickey Mouse comic books and such.

The SUV, a Ford Expedition, has a card reading "SYNAGOGUE CUSTODIAN" on the sun visor.

It's Saturday night.  The synagogue's evening service was over at 7:50 PM.  Services are still in progress at the church across Devonshire from the synagogue.
