ashuramarsh
Can Absorption be used to drain a force field or force wall by touching it? If not is there a way to make that sorta thing work?
steriaca
Can Absorption be used to drain a force field or force wall by touching it? No. Absorption only works on attacks. If not is there a way to make that sorta thing work? This is how your character could "absorb" defense powers the way you want him to. Drain, Expanded Effect (+3 1/2: all Force Field, Force Wall, and Force Construct powers), Variable Effects (+ 1/2), No Range (-1/2).
BoloOfEarth
If you want him to gain power from draining away the force field or force wall, you can add a linked Aid (only up to points drained)
ashuramarsh
Yep, I was thinking Drain and Aid would be the way to go with that. I was just curious to know if there was another way other than what I was thinking. Thanks for the input.
SteelCold
From Champions Powers book: Suppress Resistant Protection 5d6 and add Variable Effect (either Resistant Protection or Barrier; +½). 75 Active Points; total cost 37 points. That assumes that in the campaign that ONLY Resistant Protection and Barrier could be called "Force Field". In fact, Force Field is a special effect for any protection power (Damage Reduction, Damage Negation, Deflection), and Force Fields and Force Walls are not the only 'force objects' out there. One could "summon" a moving force construct which could move and act upon it's own (think Green Lantern). Of course, check with your GM. If he is never going to have such things in his campaign, then it is a waist to buy the drain power up to that level.
