TaxiMan
I've a character with the concept that he can increase attributes of pre-existing "stuff". Can you help me figure out how to build the power? The idea is that he can increase pre-existing attributes. Greater enhancement is harder, longer duration is harder. Here are some examples: A campfire can be made to explode in a fireball that lasts only a second. It can't be made to move or go out. A sword's edge can be made sharper, or the steel harder. This would be like adding armor piercing. The duration would need to be at least a phase to be useful. A person's vision can be improved; model with +PER bonuses. The power can't add IR vision, sonar, N-ray, etc. STR, DEX, SPD etc. can be augmented. Side effects can be that after augmentation ends, a period of draining occurs. The campfire is out of wood, the sword needs repair, vision is blurry / gone, characteristics are drained. So how would you design this? Any ideas for other neat uses of "enhancement magic"? TaxiMan
Aid is clearly the core of this power. But I don't see where I can make it affect enough stuff. At +1 it can affect anything of a certain special effect, but I'm afraid saying the sfx is "pre-existing attributes" is too abusive. The other problem is that it isn't always Aid that fits. If I enhance a fire, I might need an EB Explosion or even Sticky Continuous RKA (that one seems a little over-the-top for what I'm trying to achieve though). Sigh. I want it to be neat. Mike W
Make it a Variable Power Pool where every power must take "side effect" disadvantage and either"Useable Against others" or "Useable by others" power advantage. (make the fire bigger by buying +8d6EB AOE useable by others, the sword gets +1d6HKA usable by others, etc)
