Purchasing Enhanced Senses

In Hero Designer, one may purchase Discriminatory Sense (Detect) for 5 points. One may also purchase Detect and then click on Discriminatory and this is 8 points.

 

Similarly, Analyze Sense (Detect) is 5 points while Detect with Analyzed clicked on is 13 points.

 

How are they different? Which is correct?
