Variable Radius Area Of Effect

What is the 'proper' method to vary the radius of a Radius Area Of Effect power? I would like to be able to alter it whenever I use the power without having to reduce the power's strength. The AOE's value as per the rules would be the maximum radius and the alterations would always be less.

If by "proper" you mean "using just the rules in the book," then buy the power as a Multipower, with one slot for each size of Area Of Effect you want the power to have.
