How it all works

I've been doing some thinking on all the various Supervilain groups and master villains in the OCU. I was wondering how that could all get along?

This is what I've come up with:

The Warlord is an arms dealer. When Dr. Destroyer, or groups like VIPER, need weapons they come to him and say "I need 30 Omni-Blasters, 10 Mega-Blasters, 20 Mini-Blasters, 10 Energy Swords, 40 suits of MK VI Power Armor, 10 Suits of MK IV Flexi Armor and 10 suits of MK VIII Battle Armor."

So now the Warloard has this HUGE order, sever MILLION dollars worth. What does he do?

Well, like any good merchant, HE doesn't do anything. His SUPLIER does. Enter ARGENT.

ARGENT is the provider of illegal technology all over the world. However, I see ARGENT as more of a general contractor. ARGENT has contacts in hundreds of corporations all over the world. Through bribes, blackmail and out and out GREED on the part of the corporations, they manufacture these illegal weapons systems. Then, when they get word from ARGENT, they drop ship them directly to the Warlord's customer.

Heck, most of this technology will already be in production due to contracts with UNTIL and PRIMUS. When a company gets a juicy government contract for 200 units of super equipment (100 for UNTIL and 100 for PRIMUS), it's VERY easy to do a lot run of 500 units instead of 200 units and give 100 to UNTIL, 100 to PRIMUS and 300 to Viper.

So now the Viper's Nest in Dogpatch, Iowa has enough weapons and armor for sixty agents. Where do the agents come from?

Sure, there will always be those disenfranchised mercenary-types looking for jobs, but those people are both too few and far between AND much too mentally unstable. It's not like you can just place an ad in the Dogpatch Gazette and recruit Super Agents. Where does Viper (and everyone else) get them? Enter Telios.

All Telios wants to do is run exparaments. But exparaments cost MONEY. It wouldn't take Telios long to realise he can make LOTS of money by growing vats and vats of clone solgers and "selling" them. Add a little brain taping technology and he can sell vat grown specialists and technicians as well.

With The Warlord, ARGENT and Telios all "working together," Viper and other super villain groups should be well stocked with weapons, agents and equipment.

Re: How it all works

At one time, I'd toyed with the Mystic side of this, with DEMON, The Circle of the Scarlet Moon, The Trismegistus Council, and various other magical or extradimensional organizations having some sort of ecology. Then Dean Shomshak came along and did it better.

Yours should hold up much better. Although, with that much crosspollination, one wonders how Dr. Destroyer hasn't ended up controlling everything yet?

Although' date=' with that much crosspollination, one wonders how Dr. Destroyer hasn't ended up controlling everything yet?[/quote']

With his significant out-of-combat influience, who says he hasn't?

Seriously though, can you imagin what it must be like to be a major CEO in the Champions universe?

UNTIL keeps trying to guilt you into funding a superhero team in Calcuta.

PRIMUS keeps trying to get you to "donate" R&D time on your their battle armor project.

Viper keeps sending assault teams to your secondary warehouse even though it's been empty for MONTHS.

The Warlord is blackmailing you with photographs from your last "business trip" to Thailand.

Dr. Destroyer has been making death threats against your screw-up of a step-son, but thusfar has been utterly UNABLE to carry them out.

Eurostar has been putting out death threats on YOU due to layoffs at your eastern european factory.

Menton has been mind-controling your wife, and it seems she has discovered she poseses nagging as a superpower.

All while trying to run a company AND maintain your secret ID of Carnival, the Pie-Throwing Midget Superhero.
