Fuel charge & MP

Zed-F

Question

I have a character who wants to build a device that works off a fuel charge. This device has a number of functions built as a multipower. I believe that you're allowed to switch between slots of a MP built in such a fashion without causing the charge to expire, so so far, so good. The intent is that the character has access to the device for X amount of time (or Y number of phases) per day, but is otherwise unrestricted as to what the character does with the device during that time.

In order for this to work, do all the slots of the power have to be continuous or constant powers? What happens if one of the slots is an instant power? Does using that slot deplete the entire charge (which is applied to the MP as a whole?) For this to work properly, should the charges limitation be applied just to the MP reserve, or to the reserve and all slots?

Re: Fuel charge & MP

If a character wants to apply a Continuing Fuel Charge to a Power Framework as a whole (for example, to the reserve of a Multipower, which is what you’re describing), then all slots bought through that Framework have to qualify to have Continuing Fuel Charges applied to them, which means they must be Constant or Persistent.
