J.J.
Examples: 1) The Templar is mystically attuned to his magic sword. When he's separated from his sword, he always knows in which direction to travel to get to it. 2) Captain Jack Sparrow's "compass that doesn't point north" as an example. 3) Star Gemini always knows which direction his anti-self is in relation to himself. 4) When separated from his symbiote, Edward is always lured toward the odd creature. All he knows is that he has to go "this way." He doesn't know the distance or the exact location, just the direction. When buying a "compass" style power, is it necessary to buy range on Detect or can you just buy "Detect: Direction of X - 3 pts" (maybe add sense)? Or should something like Bump of Direction be used instead?
Chuckg
Re: Detect or Bump of Direction? Bump of Direction *is* bought as a Detect, according to its breakdown in 5e revised: Bump of Direction Cost: 3 Character Points (Detect Direction [3 Character Points]; Passive). J.J.
Re: Detect or Bump of Direction? Ah, that solves that, then. I wasn't aware BoD required time to use, though... might have to blow some dust off the ol' book.
ghost-angel
Re: Detect or Bump of Direction? I don't think it does require time to use. It's simply a specially built Detect. I would actually build it as a Detect: Detect: Location/Direction of bject in relation to me. BoD, as written, let's you know the cardinal directions in a more aboslute sense.
