If what you’re asking is, “Can a character with Area Of Effect as a naked Advantage for STR, who uses that Advantage for his STR to Grab a target (thus making the Grab against DCV 3), stop using the Advantage in later Phases but maintain the Grab and Squeeze or Throw the target at 1/2 the target’s DCV (as usual for a Grab)?â€

Due to the 60 active point limit in our game, I can only use 40 STR on the AoE grab. I want to switch to grabbing a single target so I can use all 60 STR.
1. Do I need to make an attack roll to switch?
2. If I fail the attack roll, is the target free of the grab, or is he still in the 40 STR AoE grab?
