Edward Gruberman has always been more intelligent than most of the people around him. He excelled in school due, in small part, to his nearly eidetic memory. The downside was that his intellect served to alienate him from his fellow students, particularly when combined his weight and the spoiled, spiteful personality his picked up from his over protective mother. So Edward grew up with few friends, lonely and with no friend except for his mother. He threw himself into books and later, computers. The birth of the internet was a boon for Edward. Suddenly he could communicate freely and a world of knowledge was at his fingertips. It was an instant and utter seduction.

Unfortunately, Edward's nasty persona was even more aggressive from his position safely ensconced behind the screen. He could vent his long suppressed anger and prove his superiority in complete physical safety. He became infamous for tearing into and dissecting people with his artfully constructed flames and diatribes. He was, and is, known be several names on various forums, chatrooms and bulletin boards some times several at the same time. His job as fact checker and archivist for a research firm gave him a great deal of time to indulge himself, a fact which ultimately lead his downfall.

While he was basking in the afterglow a particularly brutal cyber mugging where he'd raked some pathetic newbie over the goals on a topic he really didn't gave a damn about, Edward found out the hard way that the anonymity of the internet cut both ways. The "newbie" in question was his manager, Deborah Jenkins and she came stomping out of her officer she got a good look at the Ed's latest draft on his screen and instantly made the connection. In person, Ed's sharp tongue was quite a bit duller and he just withered under her tirade for the new 10 minutes and was utterly humiliated in front of his co workers (well he was constantly the butt of ridicule in the office he was just to introverted to really notice). Edward managed to gather his wits enough to flee the scene, never to return.

Back in his apartment (actually a room over his mother's garage),Edward

seethed. How dare she attack him like? The micro encephalitic ****. She

probably got her position thanks to the missionary position! It was how women worked; all of them! Except, of course, for his mother; she was a saint. Then after the rage reality began to press home. He didn't have a job and he needed money. How would have pay for its ISP!? In a funk, Edward flopped down in front on his television (pedestrian yes, but we all have out vices) and turned it on just in time to see a report about a so called "supervillian" calling himself Bulldozer; and a plan began tp form because if that moron could pull it off a man of his genius should surely be a success!

Quote: "Men call me Troll, so Troll I shall be!"

Description Ed's short, dumpy and he ill combed hair that's already going thin

in front accentuating his high forehead. He's somewhat overweight (though his recent workout obsession is starting to have an effect) and dressed in sloppy suits for formal occasions and sweats casually. He is not what anyone would call handsome but average enough to blend into a crowd. As The Troll, he wears a lemon yellow t-shirt and lime green short with running shoes and black socks along with a domino mask. There is a red T on the shirt. Exactly why he chose these colors isn't known. He keeps his gadgets in a modified police belt. Being an antisocial recluse for the most part, Ed doesn't keep up on his basic hygiene and has a noticeable funk about him

Powers: Ed possess no real innate superpowers beyond an overly inflated ego and the ability to really work people's nerve when they interact with him. What he does have is a surprisingly creative mind and a penchant for plagiarism. He hacks and digs up obscure gadgets and technologies and kit bashes them into functional devices. They're actually fairly useful and he could make money selling his inventions but he wants to make money AND prove his superiority (along with venting some rage) so he's started a life a "master villain" His gadgets all have an internet theme such as Pop Ups (Walls of a tough memory plastic that spring from small grenades, Denial of Service which traps the target expanding black plastic bubbles, Virus Bombs and SPAM attacks are chemical weapons that effect CNS, The Flamer is a small portable flamethrower, etc) and he's constantly tinkering with new one. Ed has also started working out to enhance his abilities as a criminal and teaching himself "Martial Arts" from sites online. He's not really in shape for such things and self instruction just makes it worse. He can pull off the maneuver, but there's a chance he'll hurt himself badly in the process.

Personality: The Troll is, to put it bluntly, the embodiment of the nerd stereotype: anti social, angry and maladjusted while being of above average intelligence. His childhood has left him with some deep emotional scarring and the maturity of someone half his age. He sees the internet as means to pay people back for some of the bullying he received as a boy and now his role as “Villain” is part of them. He revels in attacking places where he can either grandstand or berate the “common” people such as sporting events, malls and other centers of pedestrian congregation. Aside from his personality, Ed’s biggest weaknesses are his cowardice when it comes to hand to hand combat (which, in a world where being able to use cars as melee weapons exist might not be such a bad idea) and his insecurity with women. Women, particularly attractive ones, make him nervous (due to lack of positive interaction with opposite sex and his mother’s stern warnings). He doesn’t like to touch them or even be in close proximity. It makes him nervous and edgy which explains (among other things) why Edward is still a virgin at the age of 32.

Re: Presented for your perusal: The Troll

I do hope you won't object if somebody steals that for their own use - it is something I like too. :)

Though I wonder... thanks to the Burnout mechanics, does that mean each burns out individually? *ponders*

That's how I saw it working. He throws a bunch, hurts hand, tries to block, does it wrong and gets a bruised forearm for his trouble, etc and either can't do the manuver again for awhile or is too scared to try.
