Adding Streching Damage

bigdamnhero

Question

Just to make sure I'm interpreting this right: Can the "Velocity Damage" from stretching be used in conjunction with Martial (or other) Maneuvers? Say a 20 STR character (4d6) has a Martial Strike (+2d6); does the Stretching Velocity Damage add on top of his Martial Strike (6d6 +1d6/3"), or does it only add to his base STR damage (4d6 +1d6/3")? Thanks,

Re: Adding Streching Damage

Both Martial Maneuver and Stretching velocity damage could affect the same attack, but there are other issues to consider. Specifically, does the damage added by Stretching velocity count as base damage? The answer to that is no, it does not. So if a character has 20 STR (4d6) by whatever methods used he can only add +4 DCs (another +4d6 damage), per 5ER 405. So if his Martial Strike adds +2 DCs and his Stretching 12” adds +4 DCs, he can’t do 10d6 damage — he’s restricted to 8d6. He should either reduce the amount of Stretching he uses, forego using the Martial Maneuver, or settle for the 8d6 regardless.
