Shike019
Re: Van Damme does Pulp Why do I get the impression "The Quest" is Street Fighter II- Pulp Style Funny, I always thought of it as a remake of "Blood Sport" with a pulp feel. Old Man
Re: Van Damme does Pulp Kind of like our favorite "guvnoor of Calivorn-E-AH" always having an Austian/german accent. The Predator- an American special forces agent with an Austrian accent.... .....aw heck I dont feel like going through this. For a really useless exercise, watch Commando and then stat out Arnie's character. Let me know if you can keep it under 300 points.

Bloodstone
Re: Van Damme does Pulp My memory is obviously improving as I also remember a (black) African contestant and a practitioner of Capoeira in the film as well. The African seemed to be done up like a Zulu but as to what style of martial arts he might have been using I have no idea. Been a while since I watched the Quest but... The capoeira practitoner is Mestre Cesar Carneiro. He was also in Only the Strong with Mark Decascos. The African fighter is Winston Ellis, who has been in several action movies. He doesn't, to my knowledge, study any traditional African martial arts, so whatever style he supposedly practiced probably wasn't authentic. I don't, however, remember off hand what style he does practive Also, for those comparing it to Bloodsport: Bloodsport was supposedly about the life of Frak Dux. The initial script for the film that would become the quest was ALSO written by Dux. I won't get into which film is the bigger work of fiction
