Healing and Decreased Reuse Duration

dsatow

Question

Assuming

Healer A = 2d6 healing

Healer B = 1d6 Healing Decreased Delay (per turn)

Then if healer A does 7 points of healing, by the revised 5th edition, Healer B can not heal the target since healer B must also exceed the roll of healer A. But Healer B has a different Decreased Delay, how does that play into it? Does this mean Healer B only waits 1 turn before he can consider that null and void? What if healer A goes first? Does the advantage only benefit him or all healers in the party?

Lets make it more complicated.

Healer A = 3d6 Healing (per day)

Healer B = 1d6 Healing (per turn self only always on)

Healer C = 2d6 Healing (per minute)

Healer B takes 5 stun one phase and heals 2 points. Healer B then takes another 4 stun and heals another 1 (rolling a 3) point. A turn goes by, does he have to beat a 2 on the first phase or a three or is blank because a "turn" has gone by?

Healer B is taking a lot of stun (they hate him!). Healer C heals him for 7 points of stun. Because Healer B has been constantly recovering, what is healer C's target number? What would healer A's target number be considering the heals of Healer B and C?

(I assume that Healing as Regen does not play into this timing issue.)

Re: Healing and Decreased Reuse Duration

1. In a situation where two or more characters want to apply Healing to the same target, and one of the characters’ Healing powers has the Decreased Re-Use Duration Advantage, each character uses his own power’s duration for determining when he can apply Healing a second, third, etc. time without being subject to the maximum effect rules. The duration is calculated for each character from when he first tries to Heal the target.

Example: Brother Herbert has a Healing BODY 2d6 spell (maximum effect 12 points, or 6 BODY). Brother Willem has a Healing BODY 2d6 spell, Decreased Re-Use Duration (1 Turn) (again, maximum effect 12 points, or 6 BODY). Their friend Artorius the Bold has been badly injured in battle, suffering 8 BODY worth of wounds. In Turn 1, they both decide to try to Heal Artorius. Herbert acts in Segment 3 and rolls 8 (thus Healing 4 BODY). On his Phase in Segment 4, Willem tries to Heal Artorius as well. Willem has to roll more than 8 on his 2d6 to Heal Artorius further, and can only Heal him to the extent his roll exceeds 8. However, whereas Herbert has to wait 1 Day before he can apply Healing without being subject to the maximum effect rules, Willem only has to wait until Segment 4 of Turn 2 (one Turn later). At that time he can apply his Healing power anew, regardless of what he, Herbert, or any other healers did in the intervening time.

2. In your second example, the power construct you’ve set up for B isn’t valid; Healing Always On is meaningless. If you’re trying to say he has Healing Regeneration, as noted in the rulebook the rules for maximum effect don’t apply to Regeneration. Another character could apply Healing BODY to a character with Regeneration and Heal him normally, without regard to the maximum effect rules. Once he does so the maximum effect rules come into play with regards to his Healing or any other outside Healing, but the target’s Regeneration continues to function normally.
