CorpCommander
We have a character with both Danger Sense and Clarisentience. How would you rule on the activation of the Danger Sense in an area where the character is currently remote viewing? Danger Sense is a sense after all and Clarisentience simply allows the senses to be used remotely. Would it cost +5 points to have this unusual sense used remotely? Thanks in advance for you opinions and comments.
Hugh Neilson
I would say that's the way to apply it under the rules - add this sense as one in Clairsentience. However, how much use it would be is open to debate. If the character's Danger Sense is limited to danger to him personally, he's not going to get hurt by someone being in an area he's scannong 50 miles away, so it won't pick up on the fact that, for example, there's a guy hidingb behind the curtain with a shotgun. Broader Danger Sense might work (eg. danger to others), but unless the character has some m,eans of communicating over that distance (eg. Mind Link with a character on site), he's going to feel a lot like the guy watching a movie yelling "NO! Don't go in the basement!"
Kristopher
On the other hand, if he's using the Clairsentience to scan a room the team is about to enter, he should be able to detect any personal dangers present in the room.
CorpCommander
Ambush Breaker The idea was to break ambushes or at least have a chance at discovering them. It was bought with Non-combat and Immediate Vicinity. The nature of the ambush isn't revealed, just the fact that there are creatures waiting in ambush. I have decided to not make it useful against traps since they just lay there. If I allowed that it would be useless. Think of all the things that could be considered "traps" even if unintentially such as rake laying in the grass ("bonk") or someother hazard. umbra
I can see your GM getting frustrated with that combo rather quick.

Care to expand on that one? How is it any worse than any other combination?
umbra
If the GM feels like you keep springing his traps/ruining capture attempts/finding the secret headquarters etc he/she might start to get a tad miffed that all that work gets wasted. Speaking from experience, GM's get cranky when you avoid teleporting into the room filled with supervillians.
CorpCommander
Well obviously, but you've missed something. I am the GM. The clarisentience is a once a day type of thing. You get one shot. The character who has it, has pychological limitations on getting into danger. It may be useful to the party but on the other hand the one guy who doesn't like going into battle is the one who finds out first. Other than that, you don't see a problem on technical grounds?
