Day One

Jason Ambros worked at the Temple City University Library translating books. He discovered a weird journal and was confronted by Psi Ice and Hexum. He escaped with the book by transforming into nightbane. He researched book as well as he can before returning to the library and talking to Mrs. Keeley, the head librarian. He denied all knowledge.

 

Jason found a map in the journal. An x is over Nebechunezzar Park. He checked with Jim Larraby of the humanities department at school about translating the book. He learned it had 17 languages in its pages.

 

Jason leaves, spotting a flash of light in a bank near TCU. He investigated. He confronted Captain Video believing that he was a more famous villain. Video escaped.

 

Jerry Adams was a student at TCU. He met Cora Lilith. She stated that he was recommended to be her tutor by Dr. Hiram. She gave him an address at 200 Bartholomew Lane. They set a meeting for a study session. Jerry checked with Dr. Hiram via e-mail. He denied knowing her. Jerry checked number and address and found it was in Lazarus Hill, an affluent neighborhood in town. He went to dinner and checked what Hiram's current classes are on.

 

Jerry's apartment was invaded by a Belmont monster hunter. He escaped to St. Thomas, a church near the university. He talked to the priest, and learned the Belmont has a number tattooed to his neck in Chinese. He captured the Belmont and turned him over to the police as a psycho.

 

Simon Poole was having a dinner at the Cross Café, family visiting with in-laws. He was poisoned and loaded into an ambulance. He met Dr. Moto and Nurse at hospital. The problem seemed to be with his DNA.

 

Simon underwent transformation to blood creature and was trapped in a liquid proof tub.

 

Ashlee Summer was at home in an apartment building at the edge of the Catacombs. She heard shots, and police pursuit. She stopped the bad guys, members of the Midnight Wolves street gang. She went back to her apartment, showered, watched television. Her face and name was plastered on the news.

 

Ashlee went to bed. She heard a noise. Wolves break into her place. She escaped, but they trashed her apartment before leading her back to their base. She reported the break-in and the cops give her a lift to the Glory Arms, a flea bag hotel.

 

Ashlee left the hotel for Adam's Rib, the strip club where she worked. She talked to Jake Lowengard, a bouncer at the club, and he agreed to let her stay at his place on the beach. She went there, and cleaned up.

 

Melody Jennings was a doctor partnered with a Dr. Strain, with an office in the Calvin Town part of Temple City. She ran into Harvey Dowd, a PI in her building. She brushed him off. She ran into the villainous Scorpion in the parking lot. Dowd saved her by setting Scorpion on fire. She fled as nightbane self and checked into Beachfront Hilton hotel. She phoned her dad, learned she was adopted. Dowd reappeared and they flew to Nebechunezzar Park on the astral plane. Melody saw the astral tornado for the first time.

 

Melody met Casey Dawson in the park. They talked and she learned that Parsons killed Harvey Dowd while he was trying to save her life as an infant. They talk to Walker Fitch at the All Nite Café. Dawson asked Melody to room at his dojo while he was protecting her.

 

Jessie Rainhawk had a ranch in Macguire, Colorado. She received a note from a Cory Dawson, addressed to her parents who had died in a car accident. She met and battled a Belmont. She fled the ranch, catching a bus to Temple City. She spotted pursuit but felt safe surrounded by people.

 

Jessie arrived in Temple City. She met Moe Shrevnitz, cab driver. He lost her pursuit as he took her to Motel 6 so she could stay for a while.

Just as a matter of interest, why does NSU stand for? Whenever I see it I automatically think "non-specific urethritis" - but I'm pretty sure that's not the intent in this case....

Day Two

Simon Poole started learning control of his body, escaped the tub with some trickery, and wrecked Dr. Moto's lab before escaping in front of a plasma jet into a local sewer. He heard about Ashlee Summer raiding the Midnight Wolves, and got into enough to gain a ride to his sister in law's, then his shop. He took a black axe out of his safe, concealing it on his person before he fell asleep. When he woke up he made his way to his house and was reunited with his wife and family while they were reporting him missing.

 

Ashlee Summer hung out with Marian Cheek, Jake Lowengard's roommate until she dropped off. Ash then waited for Jake, and they hung out until he also turned in. She flew over to the Midnight Wolves's HQ, and commenced wrecking the place and battling the members of the Wolves. After being helped by Simon Poole, and learning the Wolves were werewolves, she went back to Jake's and turned in herself.

 

Jake and Marian took Ashlee to the gym and shopping before Ash and Jake had to get to work at the Adam's Rib.

 

Melody Jennings stayed at Casey Dawson's apartment over his school. The next day they went to pay the Hilton, and claim her stuff. They head over to her place next, packing some clothes for her. Dawson paused on the ride back to his building when he spotted a sign at a strip club: "Ashlee Summer, Supergirl live."

 

Dawson and Jennings take Moe Shrevnitz's taxi back to the Rib that night. They get a table as Jake and Ash arrived for their shift. A meeting between one of the Midnight Wolves and a group of Dead Boys, a mercenary gang, took place at the bar. Dawson followed the Wolf out after the meeting. Ash tried to feel the meeting out and was rebuffed.

 

The Dead Boys opened fire on the bar patrons. Ashlee killed all three with her bare hands. Jennings and later Dawson started helping the wounded and calling the authorities. Ash and Jake spent the rest of the night looking at mug shots while Dawson and Jennings promised to come in the next day. They return to his building to rest up for the next day.

 

Jessie Rainhawk got a room, went to the beach, looked at the lighthouse, and got hamburgers. She found a listing for Dawson's Institute for Martial Arts in the phone book and decided to check it out in case they knew the Cory Dawson who sent her the warning.

Day Three

Simon Poole talked to his wife about becoming a blood pudding man, taking a ride to his shop. Poole was confronted by Psi Ice and Hexum who demanded his axe from the safe. He tricked Psi Ice away, and dealt with Hexum. He sent his wife home, then escaped through the sewers.

 

William Blake reported for work at the Temple City Trumpeteer. His first job for the day was to cover the shooting at the Rib. He checked the scene over and found the Midnight Wolf from the night before dead in a dumpster, and turned the corpse in to the police. Blake talked to Jake Lowengard down, then drove over to Dawson's school and talked to Master Ryoshi. He learned the old man had to go to the police station.

 

Ashlee Summer, Melody Jennings, and Casey Dawson met at the precinct. They set up an appointment for later. Jennings identified the dead Wolf as the money man for Lorenzo Laird, the detective in charge. They ran into Blake on the way out of the police station.

 

Jessie Rainhawk tracked the school down and talked to Master Ryoshi, attended classes, and learned some of the secret history of the world. They dealt with two more Belmonts before finally heading to her motel to get her things. They stopped at the All Nite for a bite and talk to Walker Fitch.

 

Blake and Dawson verbally spar but Dawson implied that he killed the Wolf the night before and that the Midnight Wolves were all werewolves. They separated at the train. Blake set up an appointment for lessons from Master Ryoshi, then went back to the office and published his story while Dawson and Jennings rode to Monmartre Station.

 

Ed Durga arrived in town to investigate the robbery at the bank. He met Dan Carstairs and Tom Mallory, US Marshals, and Henry Clawson, FBI. He tried to exert his psychic muscle on them, but wound up mind bonding with Mallory because of his refusal to accept any particle of truth. Mallory had agents search Durga's office, expressing the belief the power armored TROLL had hired the detective to find the impostor. Mallory turned Ed loose after erasing Clawson's memory of what had happened in the interrogation room.

 

Kendo Hitashi, the hero Zero, and a delivery boy, found a body in an alley. Kendo checked around, finding an earring. He consulted with his teacher, and found a possible clue in the silver. His other clue was a set of tire tracks. He assumed the car was expensive and wandered Lazarus Hill.

 

Jennings was taken prisoner at Montmarte station.

 

Simon and Carstairs met at the All Nite Café. Simon asked for protection for his family in return for joining public service. Poole also asked for information on Dr. Moto. Poole, Carstairs, Ryoshi, and Jessie confront Belmonts outside the Café. Poole was frozen and taken by Psi Ice off the street. Parsons took the axe from Poole, and he was thrown in the dudgeon with Jennings to await the time of transfer. Instead they escaped from the cell.

 

Dawson recruited Ashlee and Blake to help him rescue Jennings. Ryoshi and Jessie rush back to the school. They met Dawson and the others in the park. They learn that the capstone of Kaison Malus was nearby and marked the site of their past battle. Scott Bradshaw stumbled on the group and decided to leave to fight a fire across town.

 

Colony, hero bum, attacked the Midnight Wolves on their home turf. They drove him into the sewer. He encountered an electric rat after wandering around. He woke up in a hospital, a hospital run by Dr. Moto.

 

Blake recruited some lions from the local zoo for help. Poole cracked the seal on Malus's tomb, but did get Jennings clear of trouble. Dawson's group ambushed Parson's elementals before Poole chopped Parsons in the head with the axe. The battle ended but Dawson warned that Parsons would be back.

Day Four.

Scott Bradshaw and RC put out a fire in a shelter, rescuing a little girl named Cordelia. He took her to the hospital, investigated a strange happening with a patient under guard, and caught up with Cordelia after she snuck out of the hospital. He took her home to look out for her.

 

Colony was dumbfounded by the hospital he found himself in.

 

Simon Poole snuck into an evidence lock up to grab one of the captured Belmont's sword. It nearly killed him when the Belmont succeeded in killing himself. Ashlee took him to his house. A meeting with Carstairs was arranged, and they were asked to look into Fort Hazzard where the Troll suit was stolen. The government was convinced that Ed Durga had caused a trail to open.

 

The origin of the Belmonts are told to Jessie Rainhawk as Melody Jennings and William Blake headed to her house. They ran into Scorpion and he stabbed Blake before they escaped. They weren't happy that Dawson wanted them to replace the lions that had been killed. Blake returned to his apartment while Jennings settled in at the school. Jessie dreamed answers after meeting Roamer Fitch in the dreamstream.

 

The next morning Chuck Gleoggler was hired by Pablo Hernandez to transport an experimental generator to Arizona. He called around and Harvey Dowd recommended Casey Dawson. He met the old man and his charges but decided not to use them after meeting Scorpion and Walker Fitch.

 

Dawson and the ladies sailed to Happy's Island and were separated across space time. Jennings was sent across to a garden of statues. Jessie Rainhawk was sent to a wartorn future, fought Coalition forces, met Kady Dowsun, and her great grandson, Morgan. Morgan introduced her to James Graham, so she could find a way home.

 

Will Blake checked in at the paper, took a defense lesson from Master Ryoshi and began to look into the zoo when he learned it had been losing animals regularly. He ran into Coal Sanchez after she escaped from Dr. Moto's tender clutches, out maneuvering Gossamer. He took her home, then over to the school. Master Ryoshi couldn't do anything for her, but decided that maybe another of the brotherhood could help. He placed her on a train and took her west.

 

Blake checked with Walker Fitch. He went out to Happy's Island and met a sand raptor. He escaped the hungry monster after it bit him.

 

Nathan Fellowes woke up in an alley with a new body and a new face. He started investigating what had happened by looking in on the lighthouse in the harbor.

 

Kendo Hitashi broke into the zoo after learning about the lions being missing. He looked around but didn't see any relevant clues. Kendo put fliers up for the earring. He checked on the Midnight Wolves but didn't overhear anything important except their ire against Ashlee and Colony.

 

Kendo and Nathan met by accident near the beach. They join forces, checking into the earring, and on vampires. The Lilith sisters call Kendo's pager. He called back and arranged dinner. Nathan took a break to check his old place. His neighbor raised the alarm when she didn't recognize him. He went by his old job and ran into a Nathan double. Then Nathan stole some clothes to get out of the clothes left him. Nathan rejoined Kendo and they dug into the jewelry some more before they separated to meet up at the dinner with the Lilith sisters.

 

Nathan went to talk to his double and had the man die on him while they were talking.

 

He went to the house where he spotted Zero on the job. He waited around for Kendo to show up and they went in and had dinner. The meal made them more suspicious than ever. Nathan followed a bat from the Lilith house to another and back again.

Day Five

Simon Poole and Ashlee Summer headed to Kenton, Kansas to investigate the TROLL armor theft. They looked through files, deciding that one of the techs had faked her own death and stole the suit. As they were eating dinner, the TROLL attacked the city, using a boom gun on the buildings. They worked on rescuing the wounded while Frostburn and Inferno forced the Troll to leave. They hooked up with Roy Orleans, and Hound Roberts, from the Kenton office as they worked.

 

Nathan Fellowes searched the Lilith household after following a bat around town. He didn't find the sisters, but did find a trap door in the dining room. He started investigating the hidden room and was locked in. A psuedopod tried to drain his blood, but he poured a bottle of holy water on it to wash it away.

 

Kendo Hitashi found marks on his neck in the morning. He called out sick, went to the Lilith house and talked to the sister. Then he went to Simon Poole's store and found it closed. He returned to the Lilith house and found the sister was doing internal work on her mechanisms. She /it took offense as this and decided to eliminate him as a witness. Kendo called on Zero to defend himself during the fighting. Nathan broke out of his cell. They destroyed the robot. Nathan retrieved more holy water, and stole the sisters' silver to sell for spending money.

 

Kendo discovered the implant when it tried to burst out of his neck. Nathan killed it with holy water before it broke out.

 

Shana Goldstein arrived to help Kendo and Nathan with their problem. The three put down the monster, burning down part of the house to do it.

 

SRJ shut down Nathan and captured Shana after Kendo had went home. She woke up in a holding tube. She used her magic to get free. She went back to the partial remains of the Lilith household and stole some burnt clothes to wear. The magician knew Ryoshi and decided to go to the dojo and talk to him. Not finding anyone at home, she found a message from Will Blake and decided to talk to him.

 

Will Blake got his raptor bite stitched closed and started asking around about the beast. He is sent to James Graham. The doctor was in the middle of working a cure and Blake decided to help out. Blake returned home with some information. Shana Goldstein showed up while he was sleeping and they talked after he heard her breaking into his apartment. They decided to help each other.

 

Ed Durga investigated the Captain Video bank robbery. After a careful check, he made the connection between Captain Video's personas and video games. He alerted the police to the car.

 

Ed hooked up with a detective serving a warrant on Harry Clotho's base. They and a swat team walked into a trap. When Ed actually got into the house, the defense system blew the place up.

 

Frostburn went clubbing after the battle. She spotted a creepy guy in a beret picking up a girl. She didn't realize that was Tam O'Shanter and his first victim.

 

Evan McCone borrowed a boat from Harry Clotho to investigate a fishburning in Star City, California.

Day Six

Evan McCone, Dark Justice, investigated a house off the coast near the fish boiling. He found melted footprints and other clues that led him to enter the house. While he was talking to the owner who thought he was a robber, the Chemical Corps showed up. They had a running battle that destroyed the house. The kidnappers took the son living in the house for his power to turn to plasma.

 

McCone followed them north across the border into Canada. He had several misadventures before tracking down their base. He followed the villains into the wilderness, engaged them, killed one, and was taken prisoner and brainwashed into obedience.

 

Simon Poole and Ashlee Summer worked on the clean up, asked for a DNA sample from the dead woman at Arlington. They had a meal, then decided to work on the survivor of the theft in the hope that he was still connected somehow. The DNA test was a negative, telling them that the dead woman wasn't Johnstone.

 

After a working a scam on Carter Nicholls, they ruled him out as having anything to do with the TROLL, or her attacks.

 

Shana Goldstein and Will Blake tried to track Nathan Fellowes down. They followed his trail all over town until they reached Halo General. They were in time for Nathan to blow up in the operating room.

 

Shana and Will investigated, figuring out that Nathan was constantly being monitored. They returned to the paper, finding they had a Belmont on their trail. They tried to ditch him as they flew back to Graham's hotel so they could talk to him. More Belmonts and Taylor Davidson, a wampyr, interrupted the conversation. The Belmonts were soundly beaten, but Graham decided to leave for points west.

 

The trio split up and meet at the All Nite to talk about their plans. They decide to go to Happy's Island and at least try to rescue the others. They run into Dewer the Contract Demon. They flee across several dimensions before Taylor nullifies him. They pick up Dawson and return to the real world.

 

Kendo Hitashi returned to his job and was taken by SRJ during a faked delivery.

 

Nathan Fellowes woke up in the alley dressed in Patrick McGoohan's old suit again. He ran around town until he met a sailor who gave him some advice. He went to a clinic who referred him to Halo General Hospital. Initial reports indicated he was some type of artificial man with implants in his head. He took one call from Control, never guessing he was being monitored.

 

Control blew him and the operation staff up.

 

Frostburn went shopping at the River Mall. A commotion drew her to the tourist dock where she found the girl she had seen the night before had been turned into a dead old lady and staked in the river. She looked around and couldn't find Tam, but did find a bum who had seen the TROLL go in the river the day before after battling Frostburn and Inferno.

 

Jui-Shen, Ninja Weasel, left the sewer Kingdom of Rats to avenge the damage done by the TROLL on Kenton. He ran into George Silver, a local bum. They found signs the armor had used the river to escape. They decided that the thing had gotten on the highway and gone somewhere out of town.

 

The partners stowed away on a train east, stealing clothes and food. They got off in Temple City and fled from security.

 

Pat Smith was asked to look into the strange aging deaths by Hound Roberts. He started asking questions, narrowed his field to the Aztec. He caught up with Tam on a pier and shot him. The killer got away by falling into the river. Pat went after him, encountering several of the secretive ninjas underground who directed him to Tam's lair. The killer had not returned.

Day Seven

Pat Smith went home for some sleep. After that he returned to Tam's lair under the city. The investigator ran into the deadly menace and killed him with a piece of pipe. He reported in to the Federal Building, then went to the hospital for some patching. The office handed him three more sets of files that matched Tam's, but with different signature moves.

 

Burnings went on in the northwest, burials in the southwest, and hangings in the tallest buildings in town.

 

Pat got a description of the burner, Kilburn, from a local bum. The bum said he wore a kilt and carried a sword like Braveheart. Kilburn's victims were also descended from Scottish settlers. That led Pat to visit a Scot history museum just opening up. They battle when the investigator discovers the evil in a diorama, setting the place on fire. Kilburn escaped through the skylight.

 

Simon and Ash decide to leave Kenton behind, and head home. Conferring with the local office had led to the thought that the TROLL would attack Temple City next, especially since Captain Video was still not in custody. Simon had the Tech Service print out leaflets for the Midnight Wolves to taunt them into helping out.

 

Jui-Shen and George arrived in Temple City. They begged some money and got enough to eat hot McDonald's food instead of trash. They hit a shelter for the night. The arsonist that burned out the women's shelter earlier in the week attacked, setting the place on fire. Jui-Shen drove him off, and George got everyone out before they were seriously hurt.

 

The partners drifted to the next shelter, determined to catch the arsonist. They checked in, discovering the next one had bars on the windows, and locks on the bunk room doors. They settled in to wait for the arsonist to show up.

Day Eight

Ashlee Summer met up with her sweetie, Jake, while Simon went home alone. A box arrived at Jake's door. A ransom note was inside requesting a meeting. Ash decided to go alone.

 

Steve James called Simon and told him about the meeting after he was told. Simon made it to the park in time to hook up with Ash as she talked to Gate and three of Parsons's minions which included Psi Ice and Scorpion. They were shown that Bonnie the victim had been sucked dry. After a battle, they were placed in a life drain chamber. They busted out and fought their way clear. They returned to Earth from the astral plane.

 

They joined the watch at the beach to wait on the TROLL to surface.

 

Nathan Fellowes woke in his alley with a paper describing what had happened at the hospital. He went by and found out the doctor had been killed while cutting his head open. He went back to the alley and asked around, but found nothing out. He decided to look at the various genetic companies in town.

 

Nathan stumbled over one of Dr. Moto's hideouts while looking at the companies listed in the phone book. He was captured, and sampled. He escaped with the help of a swarm of miniature Colonies who had also been in the doctor's clutches. Nathan had been injected with a formula from the Dr.'s lab, but thought nothing of it while he was escaping.

 

Nathan researched Dr. Moto at the library before returning to Kendo's house. He discovered Kendo's kidnaping. He investigated everything Kendo had done before finally deciding to break in to the house. A squad of cops took him in. He escaped from custody after his body started sprouting arms and fur, and growing his legs together.

 

Nathan returned to Moto's lair. He found it destroyed with a note from Control thanking him. Nathan salvaged some of the doctor's equipment and secured a cure to reverse his monsterization.

 

Jui-Shen and George were trapped like rats when the arsonist came to burn down the shelter. The ninja weasel broke out, saving the homeless with him. He chased the arsonist to the man's car, boarding it. He finally caught a grenade and blew the man up. The police came and shot Jui-Shen while he was trying to make his escape. After everything was sorted out, Jui-Shen was offered a place in the service.

Day Nine

 

Simon Poole, Ashlee Summer, Jui-Shen and some support staff convened at St John's island since the TROLL usually attacked by water. The mercenary arrived, blowing up the support cabin with her first shot. She managed to clear space with her cannon until Jui-Shen stopped her by cutting the ammo belt feeding her weapon. She decided to head back to shore to try again later. Simon, ripped in half, and Ashlee gave chase.

 

After another battle on the beach at east of the city, The TROLL managed to get to her mobile headquarters without being seen. That didn't stop a quick search of the highway from revealing her secret. Unfortunately she had rigged the armor to explode in the carrying rack, and it did in the middle of the highway. The heroes cleaned up and went for some downtime, with a mention of their next assignment.

 

Nathan Fellowes found he didn't quite like the uncontrolled transformation he was undergoing thanks to Dr. Moto's chemistry set. He puzzled through the equipment until he found a default mix of his DNA and rigged an antidote. He decided to investigate Kendo's kidnaping, and after some careful consideration he realized that he might have some type of spy device implanted in his skull. Needing money, he ripped off members of the Jade Dragons, stealing their signet rings that marked their membership in the gang.

Day Ten

Nathan pawned the rings from the Jade Dragons. He went back to the lab, cleaned it up. He then went back to Chinatown. Spotting a gathering of the Jade Dragons which he knew were still looking for him, he decided to break in and eavesdrop. He learned that the Dragons and Midnight Wolves were thinking about an alliance and finding him was part of the agreement. Unfortunately Nathan encountered the Wolves while they were arriving for the meeting. A running gun battle broke out until the police arrived to bring things to a stop.

 

Nathan did a little research on other superheroes operating in the world, visiting various sites around the city before returning to the lab. He encountered Dr. Moto who took out Nathan's camera and put in his own. The mad scientist pointed the experiment right at SRJ.

 

The speedster broke in, discovering a secret section of the building partitioned off from the rest of the building. He went back to the lab and found a dragon where the equipment had been. He left and returned with stolen equipment to get through the barriers. He found Dr. Moto being questioned by the staff. Breaking the doctor out gets Nathan shot and manacled. The two enemies break out and Dr. Moto left Nathan on his own as the Dragon attacked.

 

Ashlee Summer, Simon Poole, and Jui-Shen met with FBI agent Clawson. He told them about Captain Video and Ed Durga's investigation. They look around the last place Durga was seen until George called. Ash left the others behind as she flew to investigate the dragon ripping up the SRJ building.

 

Jacob Peterson woke up after the facility he had been held in had been attacked by an escaped monster. He decided that he needed to find out what was behind him being a lizard man, and escaping as soon as possible.

Day Eleven

Jacob Peterson stole a car. He drove out of the mountains, visited his former friend, got a new ride. Unfortunately he had to kick in a carjacker's face when he wanted the hummer. The new monster decided to hide out in Devlin's Scrapyard until nightfall. He drove over to the Lucifer Flatts HQ for SRJ. He ran into Eric Goran, the VP, who told him everything he needed to know. Jake was shot trying to escape. Security had him ready to be put on ice when he came to. He escaped, causing the storage facility to be destroyed to hide the evidence.

 

Jake turned himself in to the Marshal's Office.

 

Nathan and Ashlee battled Moto's Dragon. Ash knocked out one of its eyes. The building collapsed. Simon and Jui-Shen arrived in a cab. They went into the debris before the clean up crew. They found a rat with one eye that Nathan and Jui-Shen adopted.

 

They went out and had dinner before Nathan and Jui-Shen went to their new apartment, Simon went home to his wife, and Ash went home to Jake.

 

Kaison Malus showed up at five in the evening. His castle overtook downtown. Everyone in town arrived to battle the fragment of a god. Their combined forces kept him busy until Shana Goldstein closed his prison door. The castle vanished.
