Dead guy on tab
Quick question: For a martial attack that has a disable element, do you double the body to check for impairment (a) before defenses are applied or ( after defenses are applied? 0 Steve Long
Re: Disable for impairment I'm not sure I understand the question, or maybe I'm overlooking something. A Disable-based maneuver doesn't suffer OCV or damage penalties or bonuses for attacking limbs. You can then use the Impairing and Disabling rules (5ER 416-17) to determine if a limb is disabled. Nothing in those rules says anything about doubling BODY damage; what they say is that the usual damage penalties (or bonuses) for limbs aren't used with a Disable attack. Does that answer your question? If not, please post a follow-up and hopefully I will figure it out.
