Tarot (team concept) - team held together by a metahuman by the same name, who has the ability to empower individuals who closely match up with the Major and Minor Arcana. Thus, he has sought out metahumans and/or talented individuals who embody the concepts of the Knight, the Wizard, the Queen of Cups, and so on. This gives a reason to have a themed team, as the closer the individual's powers, abilities, and appearance match up with the theme, the more powerful they become. This concept also works with Zodiac - people who embody their astrological signs, or (more obscure) Kaballah - individuals who embody their True Name.

Secret Agent Man - (martial artist/gadgeteer) someone whose power is that of James Bond-type cinematic superspy, including genre elements (can't truly die unless he's unpopular, powers occasionally change when the 'actor' playing him changes, etc.) Incredibly smooth and sophisticated, and has access to Q-style vehicles and equipment; the more elaborate, the more effective in his hands.

The Puppeteer - interdimensional serial killer clarivoyant whose sole ability is to hear the real-life cross-talk at the gaming table. He kills individuals with interesting and exciting lives (ie: PC's) in order to free them all from the mind-controlling voices that only he can hear.

For a comical element, a character with Desolid and Invisibility always on, Strength usable against physical world and Prankster can work rather well. I created the character to fit with a player, and he chose to reveal his existence only to one PC. (writing notes in dust, then wiping them away before anyone else could see, etc.) His pranks were mostly reserved for that character, too. The victim enjoyed roleplaying his martyrdom and was entertained by the antics. The rest of the party played up not believing his claims of being haunted. Very inexpensive character, room for other abilities.

Does not need to be a comic campaign, and the character has great roleplaying possibilities.

Alchemecha - Possessed of the spirit of a Dwarven Priestess to the Crafting Goddess Gurn, American Chemistry student Tanya Spanner is transformed. Once slightly pudgy and shy, she becomes a muscular, and stubborn, direct, and occasionally obstinate Technomancer.

It is during her explorations of the Temple her half soul once tended, she finds a "war Golem" in the form of an armored Demoness. Converting the Golem into a giant suit of Armor she begins her career battling the forces of evil.

Former football player Peter Osborne is thrilled to discover that the company that he'd be hired to upgrade and maintain their website, Crucible Industries, is interested in using him as a volunteer for a regeneration treatment. Perhaps fixing the nagging knee and ankle injuries that had forced him from athletics.

Sadly, an ARMORY plant uses biopathic brainwashing to steal Peter from the recovery room. His new abilities (healing, incredible toughness, low level superhuman strength and agility) are tested and he is transformed into a souless killing machine know as Blitz.

Blitz performs marvelously for several months but slowly, the nanites that control his mind are actually driven from his body by his healing factor. During a battle with neophyte heroine, Aerodrive, the conditioning breaks down and he allows himself to be captured.

Taking refuge with a friend in Oahu, he trains with a martial arts master in the art of Lua.

Rededicating himself and fighting his way through the implanted skills to true control of his own actions, he returns to the states a Silver Lion.
