They used the metal plating they took from the collapsed science tower they found. Sir Donald and Flames decided to check on the orc they placed on the island. They planned to bring him back to the sub for questioning. They didn't know that the orc had activated an army of clockwork men and cannon beetles. The orc led that army to the beach since they were trying to kill him. The orc started swimming from the beach as Sir Donald started down to investigate. When the knight saw the clockwork army, he circled back to the sub and told them to get out of firing range. He then returned to the beach to keep the army busy while the sub got on the way and sailed out of reach. Sir Donald trapped two tanks into sinkholes on the beach before concentrated firepower annihilated Flames. He fell into the water, and started to sink. He rid himself of his armor so he wouldn't drown. Sid piloted the sub out of reach of the beach as Lil, Dennis, and Ishiyama set out to rescue Sir Donald. Lil used her sea serpent form to carry the other two on her back. An exchange of fire results in Dennis being blasted to bits, Ishiyama destroying several of the robots before he is blasted too, and Lil making landfall and digging into the beach. That forced the mass of soldiers and beetles to scatter somewhat. Donald managed to flip another tank as Lil surfaced. Her huge mouth grabbed up the lesser robots and chewed them to bits. Other mechanical men shot her as she went. Parts fell on the beach as she descended into the sand. Donald sank another tank as she vanished. Donald flipped from using gravity axes to blast arrows. He hit one of the robotic tanks in the cannon. He decided to go for the cannons when that tank blew up. He was partially successful with this tactic. Lil spent time underground healing up her damage as Sir Donald and the remaining army exchanged a flurry of shots. Since the knight was still in the ocean, he used the water as cover as he fired blast arrows at the clockwork forces. Lil engaged in a surprise attack which destroyed most of the opposition. She and Donald destroyed most of the forces, but one of the two tanks that Donald had sank into a sinkhole managed to shoot him as he bobbed in the water. The one mobile trooper left ran for reinforcements. Lil charged after him. She crashed into an arsenal when she missed him the first time. She broke him before he could pull a switch to activate a second cache of weapons. She circled around the two tanks on the beach and headed back to the sub. He snuck around until he found Sid in his pilot's chair. A pull and a kick to the head put Sid down for the count. The Steam Mechanic's lightning blast didn't phase the orc. Dr. Pucca spotted the orc. He fired a crystal lens from his home city-state. That scratched the invader. The orc charged Dr. Pucca. The doctor shot him in the eye with the laser, then again while he was down to make sure. The good doctor made sure the regeneration pool had not been tampered with and the dead members of the party were resurrected on schedule. They had to send Lil down to the ocean floor to retrieve their lost weapons from the battle. They decided to leave the two tanks on guard on the beach as they sailed away. After some debate, they sailed around to the other side and began salvaging parts. They built replacement armor and worked on repairing the submarine. They decide to salvage one of the tank guns near the two beach sentinels. The tanks turn their cannons and attack. The party puts them down after a brief struggle. They are able to take two of the big guns from the battle. They ran into three robots on the way back to the sub. Ishiyama sliced them up with his melee weapon shooter. The crew mounted the tank guns on the Doomshark and sailed to the Kraken at the edge of the world. The submarine couldn't sail up the current from the Kraken so Sir Donald flew over to talk to it on the back of Flames, his dragon. The Kraken addressed the knight as little bug life and informed him of the day when it and the other three pillars of the world would quarter the disc. They were waiting for the area to grow to the right size. The crew of the Doomshark put out a floater to mark the size of the ocean against what the Kraken had stated was the maximum size. While they were doing that, a messenger from a western kingdom unknown to them arrived to ask for help in dealing with an invasion. King Sam assigned Sir Donald the task of dealing with it. Sir Donald sends his dragon to his old comrades to ask for help and a steam plane to fly west. As the group met at Sir Donald's house, Ishiyama warned of danger.
