NestorDRod
This is my first attempt at posting a character to the boards, so be gentle. This one's for a game using the PS238 RPG. Children, we have a new student. Please say hello to... Her mother, a hard-working single mother of limited means, tried her best to raise her daughter and hide her unusual looks. Despite her best efforts, though, she was finding it harder to keep Alicia safe from people who would discover her nature and exploit her for their own means. Things changed when, during an otherwise innocent grocery shopping trip, a couple of hoodlums attempted to rob the store. When one of them threatened Mrs. Vega with a gun, Alicia sprung into action, leaping on the robber, hissing and scratching, just as a local superhero burst into the scene. Recognizing the potential in the young girl, the hero referred them to the PS238 recruiters, who were quick to offer Mrs. Vega financial assistance as part of the enrollment package. The Vegas relocated to Wonderburg and young Alicia is now another student enrolled at Excelsior. Personality/Motivation: Alicia is a surprisingly happy and cheerful child, full of energy. She finds it hard to concentrate on anything for very long, and her teachers have considered testing her for Attention Deficit Disorder. She is a big fan of superheroes, following their exploits in the news, and is thrilled by the idea of being in a school full of metahuman kids, especially the children of some of her favorite heroes. Quote: "Bored, bored, bored. Yum, they're serving tuna fish salad in the cafeteria today." Powers/Tactics: Alicia demonstrates exceptional agility, coordination, and speed. Her senses are sharper than normal, too. She can see in the dark, hear sounds beyond human range, and even track people by sound or smell. She does suffer from color blindness, though. Her fingers end in sharp, retractable claws. She loves tumbling and climbing (gym class is her favorite subject) and, in combat, is constantly in motion, making herself harder to hit. Appearance: Alicia Vega is slightly taller than her classmates, with tanned skin and a shock of bright red hair. She has very little body fat, giving her a gangly form that misses being gawky by her graceful motions. She normally wears T-shirts and shorts, with sandals if she can't get away with having bare feet.. When in public, she wears dark glasses and gloves to hide her looks; PS 238 has provided a release explaining her need for them as the result of a rare medical condition. Bloodstone
Re: Alley Cat You are spending 16 pts to get +4 PER for 2 sense groups. You can get +4 to All Sense Groups for only 12 points. Should you not want to Enhance your remaining sense groups, you can simply say that it does not affect Vision and Touch and call it a -0 Limitation. Alternately, you could enhance Hearing Group for 8 pts and Normal Smell for 4 pts, since her Tracking is presumably built as an Sense Enhancer for Normal Smell, and not the full Smell/Taste Group. True on the Enhanced Perception, and I could simply have the Vision and Touch Sense Groups also enhanced; it doesn't break the concept. BTW, I'm using the PS238 rules to create the character, not the full Hero System rules, so Tracking Smell is a specific Sense, not a modifier on an existing Sense (as per the book, pg. 116). In that same vein, in PS238, you can buy Enhanced Perception for specific Sense Groups or all Sense Groups, but not for specific Senses. Thanks for the feedback! NestorDRod
Re: Alley Cat OK, like I said, I'm new at this posting-a-character thing. If I make changes to the write-up based on feedback, do I edit the original post with the changes, add a new post with the corrected sheet, or just mention the changes and let interested parties edit the sheet at their own leisure?
