Wasn't there a thread on: Fantasy HERO weapon sameness?

I remember there being a thread here on the FH forum regarding the fact that some folks felt the Fantay Weapons listed in the HERO5e core book, and Fantasy here were somewhat bland.

That they prefered the old weapons tables from FH4thed. Where Spears had inate armour peircing, Hammers had a stun bonus, Swords had a OCV bouns etc, etc.

It was an interesting thread if I remember correctly, but, I can't seem to dig it up again. So, if anyone reading this knows/remembers what I'm rableing about, please post a like for poor ole forgetfull Doc.

I'm pretty sure that thread was from the previous incarnation of the discussion boards.

To sum, both 4th ed. and 5th ed. had sameness issues. 4th ed. did a pretty good job of making weapons feel different--all hammers get +1 STUNx, all swords get +1 OCV, etc. But the STR mins in 4th ed. were stupidly computed from active points, so they all came down on STR breakpoints, which only reinforced the whole granularity-of-STR problem.

In contrast 5th FH has a much greater variety of STR mins, but Long inexplicably dispensed with some of the weapon 'flavor'--so swords lost their OCV bonus, etc.

Believe it or not I still think 1st ed. FH had the best weapon chart. The 5th FH chart is a dramatic improvement over the one in FREd but there are still a few obvious imbalances, like bastard swords vs. battle axes and medium spears vs. anything for people of STR < 16.
