tkdguy
Re: Ecuador authorities seize drug-smuggling sub Maybe I can find a use for this. Thanks for sharing. At first I thought the submarine looked like a dolphin! I need to get my eyes checked. Edit: Now that I've ridden on a Zeppelin, I've been thinking of following it up with a submarine ride. Ian Mackinder
Re: Ecuador authorities seize drug-smuggling sub My understanding is that Caribbean drug traffickers have been headed in this direction for a few years. Cigarette boats are just so 1980s, you know? For the most part, the vehicles built are "one-shots" (good for one trip) and submersibles rather than submarines (they don't "fully" submerge, requiring a constant air supply via a snorkel). This could be a step up the ladder development-wise - or it could be that the media report has been dumbed down. Hard to say.
