Narf the Mouse
Every time I hear the song "Highwayman", I get an urge to run and/or play something...But I'm not sure what or how.
AmadanNaBriona
Re: Highwayman/Highlander Hero? Every time I hear the song "Highwayman"' date=' I get an urge to run and/or play something...But I'm not sure what or how.[/quote'] Which version? The Lorenna McKennit one based on the Noyes poem has mainly inspired me to build a costume, mostly because the description is right there. The Highwaymen version, however, I agree with you 100%. In a strange sort of synchronicity, I was listening to that song today and pondering how I could write the main character of the song up for the Susano's Song Based Characters thread. Mostly considering how I'd write up his reincarnation power, or if I'd give the character a Resurrection Regen and immortal, or what. Narf the Mouse
Re: Highwayman/Highlander Hero? The Highwaymen version - Should have specified that. Didn't think of reincarnation as a possibility for the character. My brain seems to be aiming at something sort-of like Highlander, but without the Game. A definite "Who wants to live forever?" vibe. tkdguy
Re: Highwayman/Highlander Hero? You can have a Highlander-style campaign without the Game, but some immortals may still fight if they can't or won't come to some kind of agreement. Not all of them will have combat skills without that whole "there can be only one" rule. And maybe there won't be any Quickening once an immortal loses his head. Edit: My antivirus software detected a threat in the page linked in my signature, so if anyone wants to look at my take on Highlander, just check out my original thread on these boards. Narf the Mouse
Re: Highwayman/Highlander Hero? All sounds good, but I've got no idea where it goes from there. Was hoping this would stir something loose. ...Maybe I need to read some history.
