Absoption Questions

Could Absorption be applied to another defense besides PD or ED; Like Mental, Flash, or Power Defense?

Would it need the AVAD Advantage for this?

If a Mental Attack has the Does BODY Advantage, would Absorption need the AVAD Advantage to Absorb it?

Would the BODY of a Flash Attack be considered BODY damage, or would it need the Does BODY Advantage when determining if it affects Absorption?

1-2. Not under the standard rules, though I might discuss something along these lines in APG2.

 

3. If this attack is defined as doing “physical” or “energy” damage, then Absorption works against it like normal. If it’s a “mental” attack (which it almost always will be, I expect), then you’d use the Mental Absorption rules on APG 80.

 

4. Absolutely not. If a Flash has Does BODY, then a character with an appropriate form of Absorption could Absorb from it, as discussed on 6E1 166. But just because a Power requires you to “count the Normal Damage BODY” to determine its effect does not mean it can be Absorbed.
