Side Effect Follow up

tiger

Question

An Example of my previous question.

Chaos magic spells have a side effect to them.

If you create spell that causes a area where any spell cast become more or less a chaos spell and thus automatically have the side effect attached to it.

I was thinking of using change environment, was wondering if it's legal. I'm guessing no based on your previous answer

If you use a transformation, I would assume, in this example, your saying the magic user is transformed into a chaos mage while in the area of effect. For spell purposes only, that is.

Re: Side Effect Follow up

What you're talking about is kind of abstract. Take a look at the Magomorphosis spell on HSG 24, which Transforms one spell into another spell. The Side Effect you're describing would work a little like that, but would be simpler because it's only altering the special effect, not the actual mechanics of the spell.

An easier approach would be to forget about defining it with points and just get the GM's OK to define it as a Side Effect, "such-and-such happens," with the GM setting the value for that. ;)
