Alcamtar
I am confused as to how the Create spells in the enchantment college are calculated. Some of them have are based on Active Pts = Real Pts in the item, as described in Fantasy Hero p.279. Some of them seem to be based on Active Pts = 2x Real Pts in the item (Armor of Unseen Step, Dragonskin Armor, etc.) Some of them have are apparently based on Active Pts = 1 + 2x Real Pts in the item (Winter's Mail, Boots of the Cricket, Robes of Invisibility) Some are apparently based on Active Pts = 2 x (Real Pts + 1) in the item (Necklace of Eloquence, Ring of Deadly Touch, Ring of Deadly Illumination) And hte Ring of Penetrating Sight is AP+1. I don't see any consistent pattern here at all; are there errors in this section or did I just miss something? Thanks, Mike
Steve Long
AFAICT, you're missing something. I don't have time to go back through and break everything down for you, but I created them all the same way. None of the playtesters noted any inconsistencies that I can recall. Is it possible that you are forgetting to remove the Independent Limitation when determining the Real Point cost for "creation spell" purposes, as described on FH 279? That might account for what you're noticing.
Talon
Yeah, my guess is you're not taking the Independent Limitation into account. That threw me for a loop for a while.
