brionl
Re: 6th ED - play or not to play (and what I need to do it) The 6E Champions book includes the Superhero Gallery' date=' which IMO is worth the cost of the entire book. Basically, it's a character build assistant: choose a base template from column A, a power set from column B, a skill set from column C, a little bit of filler here and there, and you have a character. I'd add Champions Powers to it for more powers to choose from.[/quote'] Dang, you beat me to the punch. That's the main reason I'd recommend buying Champions as well, the gallery. Especially if you're going to be running it for players who are new to the system.

I appreciate the input.
Christopher
Re: 6th ED - play or not to play (and what I need to do it) So' date=' is the new Champions (6th) a "genre book" or are their rules/mechanics?[/quote'] It first goes on to discuss the Genre and it's subgenres/ages. Then it goes into Superhero archetypes, origins and motivation. It also deals with how to make a team. It then goes on about Powerlevels and Runnign a capaign (there is a nice "Plot generator"), the goes on about typical NPC in such a campaign. It has a few (4 pages) of additional rules, mostly the Fastball special. About 30 Pages are dedicated for the Champions and their foes. And then there comes the superhero and minion galery. A very comprehensive overview. Sold!
