Ranged Trip and Disarm

Don't know if this is a question for you Steve or one more suited to Herodom in general.

 

With both ranged disarm and ranged trip, the STR of the attacked is figured from the DCs for the weapon fired. My question is whether or not the target suffers damage from the actual shot as well as the Disarm/Fall effect that the maneuver grants.

He does not. The assumption is that the attacker's using the force of the attack in some way to achieve the desired result (a Trip or a Disarm), not to harm. Just like a regular Disarm doesn't cause injury, a ranged one doesn't either.
