Ranged Martial Arts and AoE

Can Area of Effect attacks generally be used with the Ranged Disarm or Trip Manuevers and if so would they Trip or Disarm everyone in the area? If the answer depends on the SFX or is a case "use your common and dramatic sense" I'm still curious to know if the default would be generally no unless the GM allows it or generally yes unless the GM forbids it and if the latter what a Limitation not allowing it might be worth. Slightly related, can attacks that do no Knockback be used to Trip or Disarm? I believe HSM mentions using Ranged Martial Arts with Drains and such.

There are no rules specifically addressing the application of Advantages to Ranged Martial Maneuvers; the rules on HSMA 106-08 only cover regular Martial Maneuvers (and even then are strictly optional). If the GM wants to allow those rules to apply to Ranged Martial Arts as well, that's up to him, but he'll have to address all the rules issues and cope with any negative consequences.
