Damage Over Time

Laundry Knight

Question

I am having a little problem figuring out how damage works with the Damage Over Time advantage works. Based on the examples in the books, it looks the total damage is divided between increments, but it does not seem explicit regarding how damage is done.

Let's say I want a radiation using villain to radiation poison as a 6d6 Blast with a Damage Over Time with three 1 turn increments. Does that mean the damage is 2d6 per turn for three turns?

Re: Damage Over Time

What you need to do in this case is decide how much total damage you want to do, and how many increments. That tells you how much damage to buy for the power.

Let's take your hypothetical. You want to do 6d6 damage overall, and you want three increments. 6/3 = 2, so you'd buy the power as Blast 2d6, Damage Over Time (3 damage increments, damage occurs every Turn).
