Mental Attack on yourself

A player in a game I play wanted to mind blast himself. Please don't ask why, it is a long story.

The GM let him "attack" himself by rolling a mental attack vs. himself (11 or less to hit). He hit and rolled the STUN damage and took it.

Is this okay for a character to do?

That's up to the GM, based on the special effects, the circumstances, considerations of game balance, and other factors. It would certainly be possible for a character to physically attack himself (e.g., Energy Blast himself in the foot to get out of military duty or something), so the idea of a character attacking himself isn't entirely beyond the pale.
