Transform Corpse to Zombie

Christopher

Question

We have a little argument on the board regarnding a specific peice of wording in Transform.

In Transforms description it says "Transform cannot be used to create Life or grant an unliving thing life". Now while a Zombie is not considered alive, I also think it is not a "inanimate object" either and thus a cropse could not be transformed into a Zombie (a living human would be something different altogehter).

Or in short: "Can a transform be used to create an Automaton (Zombie or "stupid" Robot) from something unliving (like a corpse or pile junkparts) on the logic that the end result is not Living (but only animated)?"

Re: Transform Corpse to Zombie

Each GM is of course free to rule as he likes for his campaign, of course, but as a default rule, the answer is “no.” Allowing that would be to follow the strict letter of the rule while ignoring its obvious spirit. The recommended way to “create” things like zombies, robots, and other Automatons is the way it’s done in Hero Games books — Summon.
