phoenix240 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Share Posted April 30, 2014 Basilisk is a young mutant with the power to fire beams from her eyes ("Alchemical Blasts") that can transform whatever they strike, changing its composition as she desires. Generally, she doesn't like to use the directly on living humans since it takes more effort to effect living matter and she's very uncertain of the effects. Her experiments using her powers on living things haven't turned out well and even when she can turn them back they're dead and she not blood thirsty particularly for a Mutant Supremacist terrorist. So she uses her powers indirectly and being smart and fairly creative she's come up with neat tricks such as: Turning the air or parts of the target's clothing/items in various noxious or obscuring gasses (NND and Darkness, area of effect), explosive materials (Explosive EB), stone or some other rigid material (Entangle) or just turning it to dust (RKA only vs Inanimate, Tunneling and a Dispel vs Breakable Foci powers). Slowing fleeing people by changing the ground into mud (Drain vs. Running). Turning incoming bullets and other projectiles into smoke (Deflection). I'll give it some more thought. Basilisk's power is so flexible I'm considering changing my initial conceptualization of her powers from a large multipower to a VPP with an Int based Skill roll that, more or less, represents if she thinks of the new use in a timely manner. A single target Darkness vs Sight with Uncontrolled? If a Foci is "broken" with Dispel are all the powers it contains lost, just the one or do you have to Dispel the largest power in the focus? Maybe a Presence Drain based on turning her target's clothing/costume transparent or disintegrating them completely?
