The Arc
Ahoy mes amies! My name iz Captaine Jacques, ze captaine of the good ship Navire de fou. I'm zeeking recruits to man my fishing trawler. I sail out of Six-Fours-les-Plages near ze city of Toulon on ze French Riviera. I'm currently zeeking ze following crewmen... First Mate Chief Engineer Cook 4 or 5 Deckhands Requirments-A willingness to work long hourz for little pay. However, if you're on the run from ze long arm of ze law, or that ze mutant hating haters are after you le Navire de fou iz ze place for you. No ladiez need apply, nor and fire, exploders or acid spitterz. Nor leadbellies or giants (well not too tall). So here is what I need. I need some ideas for the crew of the good ship Le Navire de fou. I'd like to know what the character would be on the fishing ship, and what powers they have, Basically Le Navire de fou is fishing ship crewed by a bunch of lower powered metas. Thanks in advance... JmOz
Someone with fish control powers (It would be nice change of pace for one to not think of them as his friends)
Tigereye
Weather controller would be very fortunate, even a low-powered one. Someone with Bump of Direction (or better yet, Detect Location on Globe, as Sense, Discriminating) would be a godsend for a First Mate. A couple of bricks as deckhands is a good idea. If one is be a bit brighter than average that would also be a plus.
SteelCold
Someone with either LS: No need to breathe or Immunity to Cold or high pressure or can simply just breathe underwater, who could create nets (Entangle), a gadget vpp to handle repairs or even one who can cure seasickness (Aid?) 薔薇語
Jean of Daulphin A moderately young man who has spent more time at sea than on land. He is sure footed on the haul of any ship and even better in the waves of any sea. He is fairly chipper in demeanor and is always looking out for his fellow crew. He is often the first line of support for any crew member who falls overboard. Power set:Small Gills behind the ears: Expanded Breathing: 1END/min (-1, only if under water)Natural Born Swimmer: +4 Swimming2nd pair of eyelids: +3 to sight (-1, only under water) Meisui Meisui is a bit of a lost wander. His home was destroyed a long time ago and while he still holds out a sliver of hope that one day he will reunite with any survivors that hope has faded greatly over the years. Now, nearly 40 years later, Meisui still wanders the waters offering up his knowledge and skills to any ship that passes by. Every stop offers up a new chance no matter how minor. Power set: Purification: Minor transform - Uneatable food and water into eatable food a water.--Using a bit of magic, Meisui can make salt water drinkable and slightly spoiled food eatable. He can not turn water into wine or anything else so drastic, but in a pinch it will get a crew by. He is the ship's chef. Eagle Eye Jim and his best bud This young scamp is out for adventure. Like his pet bird (the species's name isn't coming to me), he wants to get out and soar across the world. But until he can sprout wings he is willing to settle with a bit of high sea adventure. He is young, full of spirit and willing to do what it takes to see what is over the horizon. That would be enough for him to get a job on any ship, but he also comes complete with vision so good it might put a telescope to shame. And if need be, his best bud can always scout out things for him. Power set: Eagle Eyes: Enhanced perception bonus plus telescopic bonuses. Bart Burton A none too smart fellow with a bit of a taste for adventure and gambling. A bad combination if there ever was one. While the high seas were never his passion, avoiding debt collectors most certainly is. He may be a bit rough around the edges but he has a good back and a work ethic almost as strong as he is; just don't tell him about poker night!Power Set:Classic Brick: Increased strength and durability. ---Those are a few ideas off the top of my head. I can probably come up with another half dozen if need be, though. (edit) I just noticed this was a fishing crew. That might make some of my suggestions (personalities) a bit weird. But they are what they are. (/edit) La Rose.
The Arc
Some very interesting characters La Rose... Some alterations come to mind... Jean le Dauphin, obviously he must be from Provence. I think adding that he has light grey skin, completely hairless and is a closet homosexual. Furthermore, I'd make him a minor metamorph in that he can turn into bottlenose dolphin. He's very uncomfortable on dry land. People often mistake him for an albino, but he isn't. As for Meisui, I unfortunately got an idea for the ships cook. Instead I'm going to use Hop Sung. Hop has the ability to leap great distances, which helps him because he's barely 5 feet tall. In China all meta's must register with the government. Instead Hop fled the country and has kept an eye open waiting for the day they will come for him. Hop also acts as ships doctor for the crew, mostly herbal remedies. I like the idea of Eagle Eye Jim. However, I can think of changes...Change the name to Jim Redhawk. He's a Creek Indian from Oklahoma with a wanderlust. He's able to forge a mindlink with any bird and see through their eyes. He's permanently bonded to a saker falcon named Kiy-ee which is always on his shoulder when not hunting. Jim is one of the deckhands. Sometimes Captaine Jacques has him pilot the ship. I've always liked the character Tom Collins from the Stand, which is ironic I think because Steve King is a recovering alcoholic and Tom Collins is a drink. So it comes my mind to include a character name Harvey Wallbanger. He's superhumanly strong, and not so bright. However, never give this man alcohol. He's one of the deckhands, wanted by the police for a terrible brawl in Manchester England that left three men dead. He's known a Harv (hey a Sin City reference) or Wallbanger. So still need a Mate, Chief Engineer, and two to three more deckhands....
The Arc
New thought on Jean...What if Jean is actually a girl pretending to be a guy, 'cause the captaine don't allow women on his ship.
SteelCold
I think the Captaine is a deep one.
