Enforcer84
The Fenn are a race of shapeshifters who have varying degrees of control over their cellular structure. They have a thriving intergalactic empire ruled by royal family and break into a biologically rigid caste system. Their abilities make them effective spies and adaptable explorers. They love the latter and rage against the former. The Fenn, though by and large accepted, still carry a prejudice as galactic boogeymen; THEY COULD BE ANYONE! Their home world is known as Phedrya Bal and it's a breathable atmosphere for Terran humans. The planet itself is larger than Earth by about 10%, and slightly closer to their sun making it noticeably warmer on the equator but not really uncomfortable elsewhere. They first came into contact with Earth in 1950 shortly after the Thrull invasion, as part of the Galactic Coalition that established diplomatic ties with the nexus world and it's powerful, unstable inhabitants. Appearance: The Fenn are humanoids whose natural forms are lithe, varying wildly in height from 1 meter to 2.5 meters. They tend to weigh in the 70-112 kg range. The vast majority have crimson to orange skin with large metallic gold eyes. They exhibit similar sexual dimorphism to humanity and exhibit mammalian biological processes including live birth. Some Fenn's control over their bodies allow them to reproduce with other races but this is relatively rare. Early in their interspecies dealings the Fenn adapted subconsciously to the race they were dealing with to make the others more or less comfortable depending on the circumstances. This is one of the things that led to their unsavory reputation and as a matter of pride they now control this - preferring to present themselves openly and proudly as Fenn. Though individuals vary on this line of thinking. Technology: the Fenn have FTL travel and Beam weapons, stasis armor, etc.. They have highly advanced and efficient terraforming and agricultural engineering - in fact they are widely known for this and Fenn farming and produce/foods/beverages are very popular with their trading partners. They are by and large considered the most innovated and inventive chefs in the universe. Fenn tend to favor elegant melee weapons for duels and similarly lovely beam weapons for military use. Their armors range from bulky "Space Marine" Powered Armors for the lower caste soldiers, to seemingly organic armors that can change shape with its wearer. Culture: The Fenn have a rigid caste system, so rigid in fact, that it seems to occur at the cellular level. The more control one exhibits over their bodies the higher up the societal ladder they can climb - branching off for specialized utility. (i.e. Military, Espionage, Entertainment, Agriculture, etc) Any child born who exhibits "Royal" level command of their powers is elevated to lower nobility, bringing their family along with them. The Fenn royal courts are rife with intrigues as Noble Houses buck for the monarch's favor. The Fenn have a very strong cultural sense of who they are. They tend to present themselves as Fenn rather than trying to mimick other races (Unless it would be foolish to do this). They have worked hard to prove to the universe that they're not "Body Snatchers."

Matt Holck
bipedal does make for a quick and far seeing creature the base shapeshift skills seems a bit risky in a 1/2 phase with -1 to shift 10 points at 11- (50%) a turn shift would add +1 for 13- (75%)
