Damage of Strangling Garrote using base Strength above the STR Minimum

Hi Steve,

 

re: The Strangling Garrote listed in the Hero System Equipment Guide 6e on page 24.

Does a character's base Strength that exceeds the STR Minimum increase the damage per the Damage Adding rules in 6e2 page 100?

 

Or would that only work if the build also included the Does Body Advantage in addition to the NND form of AVAD? 

 

I know that Does Body was required in 5e.  Did that change in 6e?

Since I built the Strangling Garrote as an HA, yes, STR above the STR Minimum would increase the damage per the Adding Damage rules on 6E1 99-102. Arguably it would’ve made more sense to build it as a Blast, No Range, with a Limitation to prevent STR adding to damage, since STR isn’t really a factor in this sort of strangling (AFAIK — it’s not like I’ve been allowed to do experiments ). But clearly I didn’t think deeply enough about this subject.
