  1. Re: What Can We Do To Serve HERO?

For people you know and meet with' date=' don't overlook some of the more obvious ways to get them interested: give them an older copy of the rulebook, even if it's 1st or 2nd edition. Get them to enjoy the game and learn it. They can always upgrade after they get the hang of the system.[/quote']

I could never part with my precious historical documents :)

  2. Re: Possible HERO System Supplement Kickstarters From Steve -- What Interests You?

$50-$100 easy for a CyberHero book that covers everything from Gibson to pink mohawk to Shadowrun to R. Morgan to Eclipse Phase. Throw in some mecha goodness as well and you can almost name your price as far as I'm concerned.

I've KS'd several board games and it's nice when they include upgraded components to increase the level of support. If you can make this happen, I think including some Hero Dice may entice people to up their support level. I would much rather have these than a T-shirt. Regardless I will support you no matter. Good luck.

  3. Re: Champions Villains Volume Three: Solo Villains when will it be on the shelf?

Are there a lot of people waiting for the bundle or have you purchased the PDF and are just tired of waiting for the hard-cover. I miss the bundles and don't have any patience so I've been getting both as they are released. It's not that I'm cheap but it was nice saving a couple bucks. I remember saving a lot on the 6e1/6e2 book/pdf bundle. Wow, that seemed like a long time ago.

  4. Re: Need some ideas for powers in a cyber eye...

You can simply state that the bionic eye is a multipower and only so many slots can be bought for it

    CES

Yeah I figured that an MP would do it but the cynic in me always thinks there is a

better way to build something. Then I get to spend days deciding which way is the best way. I spend more time with write-ups than playing. Gotta love this System.

  5. Re: Hypothetically and unofficially, what would you like to see in a Mecha Hero book?

I think I agree. The more examples, the better. Write-up for mecha from the 10-15 most popular anime titles would be very helpful (serial numbers filed off of course). These can be reverse engineered to create mecha from the more obscure or lesser known titles. This is all relative of course, I'm sure there are many popular mecha designs that I've never heard of.

As for new rules...that's tricky. I wish I could have a sneak peak at next years Vehicle Guide to see what SL is working on. I'm waiting for CyberHero to come out before I spend serious amounts of time on my version of an Eclipse Phase conversion.

Final note: I have both Robot Warriors and it's suppliment (Gurps 3rd Mecha also for ideas). If I can obtain the right permissions, I can send you any sections that you need.

And no knock against the planned release schedule, but I would personally rather see this book released rather than Victorian Hero. Heck I'd rather have an updated Dark Champions or Pulp Hero than VicHero but now I'm just ranting.

  6. Re: Need some ideas for powers in a cyber eye...

In other systems, you are allowed to have only a certain amount of upgrades added to a basic cyber-eye. Sometimes the upgrades themselves allow you to circumvent these restrictions. This can also apply to ears, cyberlimbs and neuro. What's the best way (or perhaps there are several good ways) to limit the amount of upgrades one can have?

  7. Re: APG II Commentary/Discussion thread

[Previous reply removed by author as being' date= perhaps, inappropriate.]

Your "humor" is only funny to you. To the rest of us it just sounds rude. Is that really the effect you're trying for?

Of course not. I would never try to hurt someone by sounding rude when I laugh at something that was posted. I hope Darren will answer the question soon so we can all put this behind us. I apologize.

  8. Re: APG II Commentary/Discussion thread

Look, I said the post made me laugh, not the poster. This "log-jam" and prioritization of the release schedule has been asked to death. I'm of the opinion that if there were any updates, SL or DW or somebody would tell us. We will know as soon as they know. So when somebody asks about when this will be out or when that will ship, it makes me laugh (it's the futility of the question being asked). The next post that asks when CV3 comes out is going to make me laugh too. You've been warned.

And given the accuracy of Amazon's release date with regards to gaming products, does it really matter.

  9. Re: APG II Commentary/Discussion thread

Then it is a joke who's humor i'm failing to appreciate.

That's understandable, nobody appreciates my humor.

But honestly, the book is not even at the printer. And you want him to tell you what day it will be available on Amazon. Really? And you asked in a thread where he said it's not easy answering questions buried in a thread. Do you really expect him to give you a date.

Don't take this the wrong way please. I just found your post funny. I mean, you didn't even ask when it would be available in their own store...you asked about Amazon. When do you think Noble Knight will have it. I'm guessing last quarter of 2011 or first quarter of 2012.
