Re: Announcing Kazei 5, Second Edition
Kazei5 will definitely be a 2010 purchase. Waiting on bated breath for it since GenCon.Yeah, no kidding. This has been on my "must buy" list since forever. Must have NOW.

Re: A Storeowner's First Impression
It should be pointed out that nowhere on the cover does it say "Generic." Who told you that Hero was a generic RPG?

Re: How many character points do you think a 20th level DnD character would have?
Which edition?I wont be doing a 4e conversion, so your guess is as good as mine.
That too bad. Your conversion of 4e would probably have been amazing.

Re: Announcing Kazei 5, Second Edition
How about some more previews, sans art? Like a TOC perhaps?

Re: Ranged attacks while engaged in melee
It's your game so make your actions as realistic as you or your GM like. For FH or SH I like my realism with a generous dose of "cinema." For me the game is more fun to run and play in that way. Also like what was previously posted, it's often not necessary to have to convert every mechanic. Full disclosure: I do like converting mechanics just for "proof of concept."

Re: 7 Sci-Fi Series Ripe for Movie Reboots
An explosion in a nuclear waste dump causes the moon to leave orbit and go on a galactic tour; traveling FTL between new solar systems and then slowing down for a while in them, before going off FTL again? That isn't science fiction, that's fantasy! And frankly I find Mordor, Oz, and Xanth more believable. Many "vehicles" travel at the speed of plot.

What...no "Logan's Run"?

Re: A Storeowner's First Impression
My understanding is that 5er sold well enough that they generally had trouble keeping it in stock. As in a printing would frequently sell out before they were able to get another set up and run.It must have been because of the beautiful cover art.

Re: And 6e print books start to arrive
My APG and BR arrived today, two days earlier than the expected delivery date. Great job guys.

Re: And 6e print books start to arrive
Hummmm...emailed about my beat up book a few days ago' date=' no reply yet....[/quote']Is it possible to file a damage claim with UPS?
My books arrived in perfect shape btw. They were packed very well.

Re: A Storeowner's First Impression
Frankly' date=' he has a point.[/quote']Umm...I guess.
If you put items on your shelf and you expect them to sell themselves because they have a pretty cover, then I can see why the OP would be disappointed. The genre books (Champs, FH, etc.) are expected to have great artwork.
And btw, it's been posted that 5th ed revised sold very well and it wasn't for the artwork.

Re: And 6e print books start to arrive
Not much info for me either.
Departure scan on 10/23/09 from Sparks, NV... Status-In Transit
Quick question: (maybe I should post this in a different forum)
If I had provided my FedEx account #, could I have requested the books to be over-nighted or would this been to much work for the Hero crew right now? They are probably a bit overwhelmed getting these pre-orders out.

Re: APG Discussion thread
Please' date=' folx, I expect the OP would prefer to keep things more or less on topic. If and when I feel like asking for ideas for another APG, believe me I'll ask. Posting anything here and now is a total waste of time and bandwidth. [/quote']Hey, not fair. You started it:D

Re: APG Discussion thread
Well, we're doin' our best.If the APG continues to be so well-received, perhaps we'll have to consider doing an APG2, etc., later on.
I would pre-order the APG2 today if it were available.

Re: Surely You're Joking, Mr Long.
So summoning Arrogant Pricks should always be a lot harder than summoning Dinosaurs? That's the system imposing genre on me right there. On some RPG Forums, it's not at all hard to summon an Arrogant Prick.

Re: The unofficial: I Have 6th edition thread
Purchased and downloaded mega-bundle on Thursday night. I printed and bound both books on Friday (in color, double sided). I made two seperate books out of each volume. Powers, advantages, limitations and frameworks went in one book. Everything else went in another. For 6E2, it was a pretty even split down the middle. Chapters one through six make up one book and seven through eleven make up the other. Three of my books are nearly identical in size with the powers book being somewhat larger. I have lots of reading to do.

Re: Scourges Of The Galaxy
I'll second that. It was so cool seeing Hero's take on "The Black Hole." That was a favorite of mine as a kid and I have statted the robot "Maximillian" in every sci-fi rpg from GDW Traveller to SW Saga. Not one time has it ever occurred to me to write up his background as being a mining droid, thus explaining his spinning claws. Brilliant.

Re: Book or PDF
PDFs are cearchable - which makes them infinitely more useful to meAnd they have that neat spell-check feature.

Why no comprehensive list for adders/limitations?

Re: Why no comprehensive list for adders/limitations?
Why don't you just spend the 5 points and take eidetic memory. You'll never have to flip through the book again.
