    One of the problems I see is the STR minums for weapons seem way to high. Two handed sword at 17 is one of the worst. That basicly syas there is only a hand full of people strong enough to use a two handed sword efectively.

     

    I also think weapon damage should in some way be based on skill, but that is another isue.

    The way they work is the laser finds the frequency that is not reflected by the armor..it usualy takes one to tow shots before that frequency is found.

     

    I was thinking of using Find weakness with the lasers...how would that work, they do have damage but the armor would be half defense agenst them. With 25PD/ED that still wouldn't do any damage unless the laser was penitrating.

     

    The thing that is hard to simulate in hero is that all armor is basicly ablative in Rifts. There is no stops X amount of damage. They just have a huge amount of damage they can soak before it gets to the squishy guy inside.

     

    I was thinking of wrighing it up as 15PD/ED and 50 Body that would simulate the original game better.

    Then how do you deal with Veriable frequency Lasers that by pass the 1/2 damage after a shot or two?

    I'm also doing a Rifts conversion and would love to see your builds and would be happy to share mine. My game is a few sessions in and i'm mostly doing the conversions on the fly.

     

    I started with the GB also as it seams to be the top dog for armor and damage...thus setting a guage to build other things.

    There is nothing wrong with Rifts...as long as you convert it to Hero ;)

     

    My Rifts Hero game is going quite well.

    Reviewing the rules in 5ER, I am not satisfied with the above builds: according to the rules on Trigger, the recipient would have to maintain line of sight with the caster, which is not the intent of the spell. In order to remove LOS and range requirements, the following are my current 'best' builds. Comments?

     

    Blessing The Arrows: +1d6 RKA (15); Trigger [next shot, expires in one day] +1/4, 0 END +1/2 (26); OAF [arrows] -1, Arrows Only -1/4, One Charge -2 (6) [0]

     

    Cast Blessing The Arrows: (6); UBO [ten people, 'persistent', 'uncontrolled'] +2-1/4 (19); Extra Time [one hour] -3, Gestures -1/4, Incantations -1/4 (4) [0]

     

    Blessing The Hunter: +1d6 RKA (15); Trigger [next shot, expires in one day] +1/4; 0 END +1/2 (26); OIF [arrows] -1/2, Arrows Only -1/4, One Charge -2 (7) [0]

     

    Cast Blessing The Hunter: (7); UBO [one person, 'persistent', 'uncontrolled'] +1-1/4 (16); Extra Time [six minutes] -2, Gestures -1/4, Incantations -1/4 (5) [0]

     

     

    OK I just read through this and from what I can tell you dont' have to buy the power it's self only the Casting part of it. I say because of the warning that it should not be allowed for chracters to use UBO to get powers for themselfs at a lower cost. If you had to buy the power and the UBO it would be more expensive.

     

    The way I understand it is you build the power as the recipiant would have it and the cost of that becomes the base power on wich you put UBO and any other casting lims.

     

    Looking this over I don't now if it needs trigger. Look at it from the recipiants point of view, as if he had bought the power for himself. Then use that as the base to buy the spell.

    Based on what you're saying it don't Sound legal...make you multi one of two multis and your there but that would be Pricey....maybe buy Deadly blow for ranged attacks based on TK add in some Ranged MA's and Rapid fire and the like and you've Totally mutated your character!....Hmmm...sounded so good when I started.....now at the end.....Hmmm......

     

     

    Well is there any rule agenst sweeping or Rapid fireing a power? And to take it a step further can I rapid fire two different slots in a mulitpower?

     

    Sorry for the slight hijack but this info may be helpfull of you also.

     

    On a side note many of these builds make it dificult to fire at two different targets say on opisite sides of a room.

    I have a very simualr chracter to this He uses Old revolvers nomaly as a focus to fire telekenetic blasts. I have a single mulit power with many different types of shots, and went the two wepon fighting rout so I could fire at two different targets with two different powers from the single Multipower...hmm now that I say it I don't know if that is legal.

    I desided to go with the Mind control but cut it down to 3 dice and made it a standard efect...All normal animals have a 5 EGO. I figure treating someone that is not thretining you as an animal isn't unresonable for an ego or better sucess.

     

    I also made it always on.

  10. Ok I'm trying to build this power. It's supposed to be a passive ability. Animals just act like he is one of them with the exeption of cats, who act as if he is a competeing preditor.

     

    The animal afinity from fantasy hero dosn't seam to fit right as it is just the animal handler skill with a +3 on the roll. I looked at Mind control but it's more of a mental attack where this should be more of a passive thing.

     

    How would you build it?

  11. I have two build questions, any input would be appreciated.

     

    Psi-Blade has a few powerful psionic abilities in an EC. Armor defined as nanotech that can be pulled into his body (think Guyver). The nanotech also provides regeneration but only when it’s not acting as armor, also when KOed but not Stuned it reverts to regen unless in a place that loosing the LS of the armor would kill the character. That is the first question how do I make this?

     

    Second the psionic EC powers can be used when the armor is off but they cause the character damage. The armor acts as a stabilizer and conduit so he can focus his power without hurting himself. Any ideas on how to build these?

  12. Ok this is a villian PC, we are playing the bad guys. He is a big regenerating scrapper with claws that grow from his fingers.

     

    The claws an Currently a 2d+1 HKA, I want him to have to take a phase to grow the claws. He can not retract them he has too tear them out and grow a new set. Any ideas?

    I like the titan blood thing as I’m currently running a Scarred Lands Campaign in Hero 5th that I converted from D20, tonight will be the second game and the first combat. Now my game is very high powered for FH at 260 points.

     

    Anyway about the Psionics I’d just use the special effect for adjustment powers. Though putting psionics in an EC doesn’t sound too bad especially if they have the power to wipe knowledge from someone’s mind. Considering how secretive they need to be they will probably need to have other abilities to hide the fact that they are augmenting with Psi powers.

     

    I’m also not a big fan of END reserve for Psionics as I feel they should come from within the character and can weaken him if he uses too much. However 2x END may make them very difficult to use, though I would require END use on all Psi powers.

     

    I really like the Titan-Blooded concept and would have done somthing like this had I not been converting a D20 game.

    HKA 2 1/2d6 (3d6 w/STR) (vs. ED), Range Based On STR (+1/4), Costs END Only To Activate[7] (+1/4), Penetrating (+1/2) (80 Active Points); Physical Manifestation (-1/4), Beam (-1/4), No Knockback (-1/4)

     

    This was the build i had when i started questioning things. The Physical Manifestation is from UTIL wich i don't have but the description in Hero Designer seems to fit, anyone with UTIL help me out here.

     

    Any other input is welcome.

  15. Ok I know the basics for how to build this but there are a few spacific things i need a hand with.

     

    I have a character who can form Shadow Daggers (basicly dagger of negitive energy) he can use them for melle or throw them. Here is the catch it takes endurance to from the dagger but not to use it or throw it, other then STR, like a real weapon, it can be disarmed then he would have to form another, after he throws it he has to form another.

     

    I originaly built this as a Multipower, then started thinking how they build daggers in FH, they just make a HKA can be thrown. Also would this have the focus disadvantage?

     

    Ok i think that is all, lets see what you come up with.

     

    PS: I'm looking for about 3 Dice of Killing Damage, the character has a 15 STR.

    I think it may have inspired me to keep a journel with one of my characters.
