  1. Hi All

I've been running a Delta Green style game using the ORE (One Roll Engine) system, aka NEMESIS http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=90427&affiliate_id=48458

I've recently switched the system over to HERO 6.

A big part of the campaign is the emergence of Hermetic Magic into the game world which is modem day earth. Now I've always loved the Ars Magica Magic system and I've always loved the Hero Ganes rules system soooooo, a natural progression was to combine the two.

Fast forward to now, and after numerous rewrites I finally have Hermetic Hero ready. It's not been properly play tested yet as we are only on week 2 of using the Hero System in the game, so are there any volunteers out there to cast an eye over it?

It's current format is a 124 page PDF and I've shamelessly borrowed ideas form numerous sources (many of which I can't remember :) but if which some are Ars Magica obviously..., Mage the Ascension, Nemesis and Unknown Armies etc

Any Takers??? - Thanks in Advance

  2. Thanks everybody for the ideas. I like mhd's idea of a sanity 'stat' that takes damage and can recover (As per body). As Nolgtroth mentioned it looks easier to replace Trump and Expert dice with a variety of skill levels. We are now in the process of doing the character conversions (and introducing Hermetic Magic eg Ars Magica) into the game (Which was a surprisingly easy conversion lol)

  3. Hi All

I've been playing HERO since 1st Ed. currently running a Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green game using the Nemesis rule set (see title) onto which I've bolted the Investigative Skill system from Gumshoe. I now want to convert the whole thing to HERO. Could do this myself if I had time, so just wondering if anybody has some quick conversion notes (particularly for the Madness Meter rules and the more 'unusual' dice types eg Trump Dice and Expert dice)

    Thanks in advance

  5. Re: Torchwood Style, Delta Green Brainstorming

one element i was working on for UNIT was "Combat archaeology" an investigative force who would go into unexplained incidents and secure and assessing the situation think SG1 scientists linguists and archaeologists backed up by spec ops security.

Hmm, i like the sound of that. Esoterrorists by Pelgrane Press had a similar idea...i think!

    Thanks

  6. Hi All

Just starting 'brain'storming' for a low-powered DAC game. I'm looking to the great Hive-mind of the forums for ideas. I've not run out of ideas, but i'm just looking for suggestions that i may never consider.

I've listed below some very basic ideas i have (all can be subject to change )

    PC's built on 175 with 50 complications

    Using 6th Edition

    Based in England

All players are part of Other Organizations but work for ?? (Not decided on name yet)

Inspirations are Delta Green (No Cthulhu though)

Torchwood (But more dark and grim)

    Conspiracy X (But less global)

Thinking of weak or latent psi talents (not sure about this)

Reverse engineered Alien tech (eg Majestics 12)

Alien presence very hidden with possibility of multiple races of which some are working with the Government? hmmm

Possible first 'Eruption' of Super-powers from Alien contagion/plague/bio-engineering??? (Thinking of Progenitor here)

I'm open to any ideas and thought it might be fun to brain-storm to get some cool ideas.

  8. Re: Scion (White Wolf) Using HERO

Susano - Thanks for the WOD links.

Rex - Think i'll follow your advice and avoid a 'direct' Scion to HERO conversion.

I'm going to be using 6ED. PC's starting as competent or Heroic 'normals'. After a few weeks when they receive the gift of their divine parent i will apply a template to the character that will give X amount of point s in characteritics/Y in skills, talents, perks and Z in powers and equipment. Initially the characters will be based on approx 100 points (which will include approx 25 disads) Any suggestions on howe many points should be in the first template when they become a Hero? Might do a direct conversion of the Boons (not sure about this)

Thanks All. Any more suggestions are welcome

[my Teen Terror player group is hassling me to do a Percy Jackson and the Olympions it'll be good to dig out the scion conversion stuff anyway to double check the scale.]

LOL Thats EXACTLY why im starting the Scion:Hero 'HERO' If you found your conversion material that would be extremely helpfull :)

  10. Re: APG Discussion thread

Hi all, loving the APG but just one query about the realistic throwing table 2 on page 11. I might be having a 'brain-fart' :P but i dont agree with the figures. For example :-

STR 60 is max lift 100 tons and lets assume i want to throw a mass of 1 ton, so using the formula i get the following

Max mass i can lift is 100 tons (100 000kg)

Mass i want to throw is 1 ton (1000kg)

    100 000 divided by 1000 = 100

    100 squared is 10 000

Yet the table says 100,000 hmmmm
