  1. What I'm wondering is if there is an established tech range to powers online or in print anywhere. Ok - background as to why... I haven't played champions in years but plan on starting a campaign in a couple of months - I'll be using 5th edition. One of the issues I had back when I played was establishing parameters for powers, the range of what could be. For example. Blasters: typical EB type, force damage. Government agents can access blaster pistols at 30 pts, rifles at 40, and are $$$. Until/Viper agents can access blaster pistols at 40 pts, rifles at 50. Tech heroes are at the cutting edge, blaster pistols at 50 pts, rifles at 60. Alien tech varies by race, but tends to be at tech hero level. Lasers: typical RKA type, laser/light damage and requires the AP advantage. Government agents lasers are mounted and at 45 pts. ...etc. Is there anything like this written up anywhere? Suggested tech ranges for access, etc.
  2. Re: Bring in the clones This issue is almost exactly one I encountered working on my character Dues Ex Machina - partily inspired by Noman. The character is something of a spirit that can corrupt/alter machines, given enough time, becoming something the spirit can inhabit. He has several robotic bodies located in various locations, and must be inside a body (if he is not in a body for too long a duration, he dies). So, he is in body #1 when it gets blown up/knocked out/what ever - he has a trigger to dimensinal travel into the EM plane, the only place his FTL works, which allows him to fly to another body, and then activate the body. Some problems and thoughts. Bodies he does not occupy can be destroyed/messed with while he is not in them, so they are the equivelent of bulky focuses. When I jump out of my body in Boston, Viper pulls up in a van and stows the body, locking it up, dismantling it, etc. In order to make this work, He also needs a trigger heal - he is in a new body, so that 30 stun and 8 body, and the 5 strength drained, all recover. Not cheep. Why dim-travel and ftl - because teleport would require several floating locations (where the bodies are), have no time delay, and I think that having to fly about in the electro-magnetic phase world could lead to some interesting side adventures. Part of the way I bought the character is with extra body and stun - with the limitation only to give the character 1 phase - in order to trigger the transfer powers. FLT, LT SPD, only in EM Plane (-1), only to a body (-2) 6d6 Aid, repair (+1/4), trigger w switch (1/4), heal only (-1/2) only w trigger (-1), self only (-1/2), no fix prior dmg (-1/2) DIM Travel (EM field), Trigger w body <0 or stun < -20 (1/4) only interact w my body (-2), me & data only (-1/4) Sound legit? This is, of course, for a 5th edition character. Beazulb:hush:b
  3. Re: so is this broken? Thought - DCs bat dude has a utility belt with a bunch of gadgets on it. If he takes an item out, it can be taken from him, leaving him his belt. You could take his belt, which leaves him with the one item he removed from it. So - how do you write up the belt? I can see the mp in question as - 15 pt mp - oif collection of weapons (so 15pt with 1/2 limit) slot - oaf weapon on belt (so a 15 point slot with -1 limit, not -1.5). So - if captured, all his gear is removable easily, otherwise it is 3 separate oaf focuses to take. The weapons point values inside the slots determine their defense and body. A big mp version of this - say 60 point mp of sci-fi weapons would limit the def/body of each slot to the slots value, not the sum total of the entire multi-power (a 60 pt mp with 'u' 10 slots is 120 points, but the weapons are limited to the 60 pt slots.
