  1. I have a question for all interested. In Champions Universe, the SuperHuman Survey is mentioned and described, and CKC provides more information that is usable, such as the villains' survey rating. My question is, given the information in a standard write up, what information would be included in the survey/police printout? I.e. what would the characters be able to find out from it? As a first draft/idea here is what I have, with an example (Black Diamond): ------- [photo included] Tall Black woman: Name: Black Diamond Real Name : Maxine Walters Supervillain Survey Threat Rating: Alpha (Lowest rating) Known physical characteristics and powers: High Strength and defenses, resistant Kinetic Absorption Physically Dense (weighs 800 kg.) Known Limitations: Greedy Mutant Warrant against her from PRIMUS (Capture only) Contact Justice Squadron if sighted and not captured (number given) Note: Known to try to avoid killing people. Has been known to transport victims to nearby hospitals after accident (any type) or injury from super battles. ------------- If the villain has a secret ID, then the Real Name field would contain "unknown". My idea is that since the SHS is meant for law enforcement, advice would be geared for them rather than other supers. Also, outstanding warrants would be included (i.e. Law Enforcement Hunteds.) Including known habits (such as taking victims to a hospital) is valuable because it can aid in capturing them. I am wondering what info others include or would exclude. I do not want to give my players everything, but they should not be completely clueless either if they have a chance to prepare. That is the reason for so much generality and vagueness. Gemphyre
  2. There is a new character (and player) in my campaign (Champions) with an interesting idea, and I want to see if I understand the Aid/Drain rules correctly when they have the advantage "can affect any Characteristic one at a time". The character's powers are based on being able to control the functions of other people's and her own body, including muscles and glandular functions. She cannot control the person's body, but she can increase or decrease thier natural stats. She can affect any of the stats she wants to. I have checked the FAQs as best as I can, and I have not found the answer to this question. Does the above advantage, "Can affect any Characteristic one at a time (+1/4)" correctly describe what she wants? If not, what needs to be changed or clarified? As currently written, the Aid and Drain are each written as a single power that can affect any Characteristic. Thank You for your time. Gemphyre
  3. Greetings all, I am starting up a Champions game locally between friends, and I have a questions about the "range" of an effect. This is a standard Supers game, btw. The character is basically a super-powered physician/surgeon with Sense, Ranged, Analyze, Discriminatory Life Energy. The charcter also has the appropriate medical skills for a doctor and paramedic. (Yes, there are other powers, but they are not applicable to the question.) The question becomes, besides the obvious, what can and cannot be determined about a person with this detect? Obviously, the heroine can tell if a person is alive or dead, and probably if a person is undead. However, since she has the medical knowledge and training, can she diagnose a person's injuries and aliments with reasonable accuracy? What about diseases? Congenital defects? What might she be able to figure out that I have not mentioned. Life Energy is a 10 point base sense, indicating that it has a wide range of use. I am just trying to figure out how wide it is with this character. By the way, most of the charcter's powers are based on manipulating the chemistry of her body and others. Those powers also do not work well on robots (no organic body to affect), undead (organic body is not really working), and aliens with enough differences (bodies do not work in the same manner). I have tried looking through the existing threads, but I cannot find an answer to this question. Thank You in advance, Gemphyre
