Re: The Devil Inside...
Pensativa would: panic. And then call Witchcraft, because this situation is completely out of her league.
Pummel (formerly Impact) would: see above.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Deidre has a plan on how to create a diversion: "Stealth, Sleight of Hand, and a match."
GM: *breaks out laughing*
Sounds like Vixen's kind of distraction.

Re: WWYD: The Perfect Partner (potentially controversial)
Pensativa personally knows two AIs, one of whom IS a robot. If the "perfect partners" are AIs, she'd be more likely to regard them as slaves who should be given rights as sentient beings and would never want to own one.

Re: Superhero Apprentice
Pensativa would be in. Her charity would be the fund for the families of the supers killed at the fall of Detroit. She'd probably get booted quickly if many of the other supers lacked mental defense and she had to constantly pick up on their emotional garbage.
Pummel (Impact when she was a PC) would be in. She'd use the money to set up a scholarship fund. She'd last longer, because although she won't resort to manipulative tactics, she doesn't let them get to her much either. (She has a hyper-intelligent 4 year old brother.)

Re: The cranky thread
Sure. Who wants my D&D books?Oh yeah, new crankly. Main circuit board in my furnace blew Monday. Gotta order a new one, gonna be at least Friday, probably later, before it comes in. Wind chill tonight? 20 below.
Actually, I think it started going wonky on Saturday. And, where I work it's set up so our heat is controlled from Texas, so it's not warm enough there either. So, now I'm sick. My boss sounded ticked off when I called in this morning, but since I'm having to help train someone for a job I've been passed over for SIX times, I don't really care what she thinks. On the plus side, the people who will eventually fix our furnace came by a little while ago with some space heaters so we can keep our pipes from freezing. I only hope that our lousy wiring will hold up under the extra strain.

A: Rocky Road ice cream' date=' with whipped cream and a little 10W40 motor oil on top.[/quote']Q: What is Jenny's (My Life as a Teenage Robot) favorite dessert?
A: Insomnia.

Re: Who is your favorite character?
It's a hard call' date=' but Vixen's been a blast. 13 different superpowers (albeit only one at a time), cunning, clever, sneaky, and completely irresponsible. [/quote']Oh, she's responsible all right. Responsible for about half a dozen new rules at Ravenswood Academy.

Re: Top Signs You Need to Rethink Your Playing Style....
When the GM holds on to the character sheets in between sessions and keeps "losing" yours.

A leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day?
-
Re: Would you allow this mental power?
She also can't shut it off, which is why she prefers the company of people WITH mental defense.
-
Re: What game would you LOVE to play in?
One that lasts more than a handful of sessions.

Re: "I shoot the escape pod!!!"
In a second edition AD&D game, one of the PC's got his action after the powerful evil wizard started to cast his wish spell but before he finished it.
He says, "I shove a pepper bomb up his nose."
He had pepper bombs on his equipment list. He made the hit, even with a called shot penalty.
The spell still went off, just not precisely how it was intended...

Re: The Two Funerals
Pensativa would strongly urge restraint, and would physically get in between anyone trying to start something.
Sara (an NPC in my Teen Champions game) who has a very weak, cumulative emotion control power would project calm on the worst of the hotheads.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Wayne Brady singing on Who's Line. Collie has the tv on.

Re: What are you playing now?
Pensativa: a mentalist badly injured early in her super career at the battle of Detroit (a building fell on her) - she let the world continue to believe her dead after she (mostly) recovered until she was recently coerced by a somewhat nutty AI into helping form a new super group.
(in Crosshair Collie's Champions game)
I run a teen Champions game set at Ravenswood. PCs are: Vixen (massive multiform), Golem (earth \ stone powers), and Lucky (probability manipulation). It's set in the same game world as Pensativa's team, so there is the occasional crossover.

Re: WWYCD: The Nightmare on Hero Street
Pensativa, knowing she's somewhat vulnerable to mental attacks, would put on a pot of coffee and call her teammates to let them know what was up. Then, she'd try to track down the teen supers she recently met to warn them too. When the coffee stops being effective, she'd stop taking her painkillers, hoping that the pain would keep her awake long enough to update her autobiography and call her parents and tell them she loves them. If all that fails, and she falls asleep again anyway, she'll fight back as much as possible, but probably lose anyway.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
And when accused of having an evil lineup of characters after killing my second character and badly wounding a third, Collie responds with:
"We're not evil, we're differently morallated."
-
Re: WWYCD: We hope you're feeling better now
It depends. If Pensativa could walk (again?), she'd seriously consider what the doctors were telling her. If her legs were still paralyzed, she'd think they were full of crap, because the incident that crippled her would have turned a normal into a very messy smear.
-
Re: WWYCD voluntary super registration
Pensativa: Wouldn't register, and if the government had a problem with it, she'd just retire.
-
Re: WWYCD: Dumb, Da-Dumb, Dumb, Dumb...
Pensativa would want to interview the suspects to see why it seems like normal people are losing their impulse control. Hopefully, at least one of them will be willing to let her do a little telepathic poking around.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
My game ran short, so we played Apples to Apples after. I am the only female in the group, and I drew "sexy". One of the cards played on it was "wrecking balls", and I laughed even harder when I found out it was played by my husband.
