  1. Re: Dark Champions Campaigns

KS, I'm surprised that Edsel has not updated this thread with what is going on in our DC world....

The Conclave campaign that Edsel started had a premature birth. I'm sorry to say that it was Stillborn.

On a MUCH Brighter note, Edsel has revisited Hudson City, and we have started out with MUCH lower stats.

We are 50/50 with a 5 pt posible kicker for a decked out background. :eg:

As soon as I figure out how to include a link to the active thread where this campaign is going to be played out, I will try to post it!:o

  2. Re: MetaCyber

KS, It has been too long since I last took a look at your site....OMG!

You have taken what was GREAT before, and turned it into something FANATSTIC!:king:

I would have repped you for the site and this post, but I don't have any more to give right now...Later this weekend!

  3. Re: Weekend Warriors - A Low End DC Game

The Kid -- Martial Arts prodigy who calls himself sweeper after some funky staff like weapon. Just turned 18, so you know "Kid" is his name even if he stencils something else in neon on his forehead.

Not to question my ELDERS,

but I turned 20 on my last birthday :king:

and it is called a Three Section Staff, not some "funky staff thing."

I resent being called "The Kid", I'm almost legal in all states!

Besides, Kids can't join the services, and if I'm old enough for that, I'm old enough for a little respect! :eg:

...(yes the background is getting tweaked a little bit)...

  4. Re: Weekend Warriors - A Low End DC Game

I will try to get the other player-character's posted before then though. Perhaps I can get Nightstick to post his character

(he has been idle from these forums for far too long).

Okay already......I will try to get active again....No promises, but I have been very busy blah blah blah yada yada......

I am in the middle of reworking Sweepers :eg: (okay, the Kids') :o background. I should have it posted by next weekend.:)

Heres hoping that we get as much mileage from this DC campaign as the previous one - The Omega Team.

  5. Re: No Dominion - A FH Story Hour

Not necessarily a BUMP, but if the shoe fits...

I've been patiently waiting for the next installment of our saga, I guess that a few more days won't matter when compared to the hiatus that took place!

I know that it will happen soon, because we actually got to kill some "baddies" last Saturday!

  6. Re: GM's "rights"

The question of where does the GM's boundries lie is an extremely valid one NEXUS, Great thread!

I don't know if I have unique circumstances or not, but the gaming group that I have been involved with for the last 10 - 15 years (fairly static in its roster) has always discussed the "Next Campaign" as a group. Once it's decided which setting it is going to be (which also picks who the GM is to be) the specific details of that setting are up to the GM. After all, we elected to play in "their" world. After the GM hands out the campaign guidlines, the PC's have "X" amount of time to draw up their charactors. This generally is a two-way street (our group has known each other for several years) with charactor creation / audit usually happenning quickly. We historically have two sessions to...

A). Hand in a two page background.

B). "Tweak" our character on the fly.

Backgrounds are generally awarded with XP, while the "Tweaks" can actually be a complete re-write of the charactor. Depending on weather or not the PC is working out as it was envisioned. Yes, we like to leave GM hooks in our backgrounds :angst:

which add to the flavor of the campaign. The GM personalizing his world to fit our PC.

This has always worked for our group, and to be honest, I can not imagine any PC calling the GM a hack for whatever reason. :stupid:

After all, the PC's are merely tools in the GM's world for the enjoyment of the group.

Yes, a few of us in the current group, once had a GM who was VERY STRICT about HIS world (based on JRR Tolkein), but what we gave up to play in His world, we gained from the enjoyment that we derived from the experience.

There are too many opportunities to allow either GM's OR PC's to ruin any specific setting.

If you aren't having a good time; IMO - leave. It's that simple.

  7. Re: Campaign: Lomyrian Relic Hunters in Fahla

I would strongly suggest that the "unnamed pc" come up with his own name quickly, at least before the other players "jokingly" nickname the charactor something that is humerous to them, but not to the "unnamed".

In our group, naming a charactor without much thought sometimes becomes a play on words...In one campaign, one of our players had a Monk named Assoul (az-ule), but if you play with the letters a bit, it becomes something of a ---hole. :hush:

    You get my drift.

BTW - the campaign sounds very enticing! I will be watching for updates as you post them! :angst::rockon:

  8. Re: Reccomended Reading: Fantasy Novels

What's FH??? I have never heard of it :bounce: [/i]

    ummmmmmmm, lets see.......

Does the title of this thread mean anything?..... HINT

:hush: But then again, it wasn't all that long ago that I was askin that question..... :stupid:

OOOOOOOPS, Or is this what they call SARCASM?

In all seriousness though, Fantasy Hero. :snicker:

But then again, You already knew that!

BTW - Will you be at Edsels for the next session?

  9. Re: New to this Genre

DC is fun (to me) precisely because sloppy combat can drop you fast and combat is always dicey.

I agree with Eosin wholeheartedly! Combat is a No-Brainer. :stupid:

If you're sloppy, you're dead. It's quite simple. Cover first, then return ACCURATE fire!

And remember, Combat Luck is your friend!

  10. Re: No Dominion - A FH Story Hour

I am dying to see the write-up that Eosin posts for last night's game (the Holloween game). It was a blast. Pay special attention to the activities of the Justicar Nagus.

If only the charactors actually knew what happenned! :jawdrop:

Somehow, I don't think that the expressions will come through in the typing.

I hope that it gets posted soon! (hint - hint) :snicker:

  11. Re: HUDSON CITY: What Do *You* Want To See?

I know that you (Steve) are likely already done with the content ideas and such,

but what I have not seen any mention of are the Japanese / Chinese spheres of influence.

eg: ChinaTown, any mention of Triad holdings, listing of various Dojos etc...

As I ran a martial artist with a Chinese background in a LONGSTANDING (2+years meeting weekly) DC campaign based in HC,

this is My "What Do *You* Want To See?" suggestion.

    That's my .02

BTW - There are some fantastic ideas in the previous posts! When is the Publish date?

  12. Re: The hobbit of a lifetime

It was a SCIENCE writer for the AP who likened the skeleton to a Hobbit :stupid:

By JOSEPH B. VERRENGIA, AP Science Writer

It's not here I'm worried about. It's THEM ... out THERE.

Gosh, don't you think that it could have been the COFFEE that stunted their growth?

I mean, they found these artifacts in a cave that was surrounded by COFFEE farms.

It just stands to reason that the COFFEE was the cause!

    :snicker: (yeh right) :snicker:

  13. Re: No Dominion - A FH Story Hour

“Hello Lionius' date=' I have come to collect my revenge.”[/quote']

    You do know that

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! :angst:

    :snicker:

Just thought that I would remind you, and to ask....

    :tsk:

    What next?

    :fear:
