  1. Re: [Campaign] DEFENDERS CONGREGATE!!

Frydaddy and I have always said that we can tell whether or not we're doing a good job of GM'ing based on the facial reactions of Mole (Fantastic-Man.) Based on his face when VIPER showed up, I'd say things went well.

    Famous Fantastic-Man reactions:

    VIPER did what?

    VIPER did that?!?!?

    I killed VIPER!

  2. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Well, I guess I'm sorta behind the times, then, because I don't even know what Homestar Runner is, let alone The Cheat. :)

If you're interested in face-to-face RPGs, and are looking for games or groups in the KC area, check out

    http://www.rpgkc.org/who.html

We also have a forum here:

If you decide to attend, maybe I'll meet you at the convention in November. :)

Thanks for the info Dr. A!

Go to: http://www.homestarrunner.com/ go into the Emails section. Watch the classic "Trevor the Vampire" after that' date=' you will be hooked.[/quote']

You can find The Cheat's origin story under "Flashback"

And for more The Cheat humor, check out "Privileges"

    It's super funny.

Uhm' date=' Mole? Just what the heck [i']is[/i] that you're using for an avatar? I can't really make it out!

And you're another Missourian, I see...it's really looking like there's a fair number of us about! And in KC, no less...are you by chance a member of, or even aware of, the KC Role-Players Guild? And the conventions they hold?

SS beat me to the punch. It is The Cheat of Homestar Runner's fame. I was unaware there was a KC Role-Players Guild. I'm a member of an online guild for Neverwinter Nights, but rarely get a chance to play. Does that count? :)

  4. From the FAQ:

Q: Since Regeneration is an option for Healing, could you build a version of it that Heals something other than BODY?

A: In the GM’s discretion, yes. However, an “alternate Regeneration†power must follow all the rules set forth for normal Regeneration — including the application of the Standard Effect Rule so that it cannot Heal more than 1 BODY (or 2 Active Points) of what it affects per Turn.

Q: Since Regeneration is an option for Healing, and there are limits to the maximum effect you can achieve with Healing, does that mean you can only Regenerate once?

A: No, a character can keep applying Regeneration until all damage is Healed. For example, if a character had 1 BODY Regeneration, and took a 3 BODY wound, he could Heal all three points of BODY damage, one point per Turn.

Is Regeneration then only 1 Body (2 AP) per turn only? It cannot be increased to 2 Body (4 AP) per turn, etc.?

Also, can you apply the Simplified Healing option to Regeneration?

    Thanks!!!

  5. This is an intertesting topic. I looked into buying PSLs to offset the OCV penalties for Move-Throughs, but I found this in the FAQs and thought it was off-limits.

Q: Could a character buy Penalty Skill Levels to counteract the standard OCV penalty imposed by a Combat Maneuver, such as the -3 OCV for a Grab By?

A: No. If a character wants to buy PSLs with the attack, he has to define some form of negative OCV modifier they counteract — such as the Range Modifier or Hit Location modifiers. He cannot apply them to, for example, the -3 OCV with Grab By, the -v/5 penalty for Move Through, or the -2 per subsequent attack for Rapid Fire/Sweep. If he wants to counteract the OCV penalty associated with a Combat Maneuver, buy 2-point Combat Skill Levels.

Would you guys allow PSLs vs. the OCV penalties on Move-Throughs, Move-Bys, Grab By, etc.?

  6. I looked into velocity based DCV for a friend who is playing a speedster. His SPD is 7 and his running is 30". Therefore his velocity in inches per turn in 210", making his Velocity Based DCV 7. Now, for the most part a speedster character is going to be at least a 30 DEX, with a base DCV of 10. I don't see any advantage in velocity based DCV, but I definitely could be looking at all wrong. :)

  7. Seeker and 5E

I keep reading about references to a picture, in a recent DoJ publication, of Seeker looking up Damage Reduction. Does anybody know if this mythic jackelope exists? If so, what book and page number? I've been driving myself nutty because I cannot find it. :D

  8. The brick I am currently playing is a member of a subterranean race that lives under the surface of the Earth. They are basically underground Vikings. Big (Hulk-big), strong and powerful warriors. And since they live underground, they are incredible diggers. Right now, my character's tunneling is greater than his super leap.
